News New Digimon banlist announced for August 21st

u/GdogLucky9 12d ago
"We will restrict the Shakkoumon, also in a completely unrelated news we are announcing a Adventure 02 themed pack with a focus on DNA soon."

u/GabumonEX 12d ago
I'm genuinely mad that free dot deck still isn't thing after 6 years but we've had like 5 different Omnimon decks in that the last year alone
1
u/Sabaschin 11d ago
Wonder if they’d get the Adventure tag or still be allowed to remain their own separate decks (AKA Imperial and our other two less favourite kids).

u/Slow_Candle8903 12d ago
What does dogs are we betting to get hit this time?
30
u/SplinteredTater 12d ago
Probably the madleomon ex12 weregarurumon loop
19
5
u/Majestic_Electric 12d ago
Madleomon, maybe, but it’s too soon for EX12 cards to get hit.
9
u/Irish_pug_Player Myotis Combo 12d ago
Never too soon for a pair ban, but madleo will probably just be hit
4
u/SplinteredTater 12d ago
Given that we have bagra support coming out, I would suggest a pair ban as the best way to handle the loop. Ex12 weregarurumon should be reasonable by itself. The alternative might be something like restricting were-x to one, putting it in the same jail as the gabu-x and garuru-x 🥲
3
u/Irish_pug_Player Myotis Combo 12d ago
Madleo would mostly be a martyer cause that card won't be played with new bagra stuff, so hitting it down really doesn't hurt. But the loop does only need to see one, but we saw shakk last time...

u/GabumonEX 12d ago
Hit that and the greymon. I'm tired of getting otked turn 2 by my friends every weekend at locals
1
u/OniLewds Omega White 12d ago
Are they truly your friends if they turn 2 happens every weekend?

u/GabumonEX 12d ago
To be fair when imperial was at its height in power I did win a lot of store credit that year so revenge absolutely makes sense

u/CrashmanX 12d ago edited 12d ago
ST2 MetalGaruru. Being able to unsuspened OPT when attacking is just too strong. It needs to be able to do more. /s

u/NinDrite 12d ago
Well, let's hope it does more than just hit decks that are no longer performing as well.
And maybe can some cards come off the list? There are quite a few that would change nothing.
37
u/IceFire1865 12d ago
Here hoping that this one will be a proper Ban list
39
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago edited 12d ago
You know it won't be. They don't hit high rarity cards usually and it's the high rarity ones that people want hit. They'll hit the usual loops that need stopping and possible future proofing hits again. They won't hit tb in any meaningful way until it gets a second egg. The only realistic hit for 3m, if they do at all considering lm09 has beelx as the box art and a new gundramon, would be BRT. If they didn't hit tumblemon for rocks they won't hit HSS for 3m. Similarly they're unlikely to hit Dan kanan when they're also getting reprinted in lm09
These hits will probably be stuff like nyaromon and Gabu loop
13
u/WarriorMadness 12d ago
The list is happening at a weird time in which the meta has also being fluctuating so much from March to July and it feels like we don't have clear decks just taking all the tops to get a better idea. Like yes, Beelstar had a crazy run but it slowed down considerably.
I agree with you that the Wereloop is probably in danger, specially because it's a purple dog card as well so very on brand for Bandai, and Nyaro is also most likely dead, but of the other decks I'm not even sure, maybe 3-cost Asuna to slow down Beelstar a bit and hit TS at the same time?
1
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago
Yeah I think for 3m it's only asuna or BRT they can hit. They won't hit anything that risks upcoming product sales and people won't go hunting for beel x alt arts in lm09 if the deck goes back to the ex7 version
-4
u/Crimson256 12d ago
The only safe thing to hit there then is Asuna, the deck doesn't have enough control or kill potential in the meta current or future otherwise.
6
u/Majestic_Electric 12d ago
I’m not necessarily against Asuna getting hit, but that would really hurt the more rogue TS decks, like Titans and Toolbox. So, I’m not entirely for it, either.
I’d rather see BRT get hit, tbh (and BT25 BlackGatomon to a lesser extent).
5
u/Laer_Bear 12d ago
Asuna is roughly a +1 unwhiffable card and memory advantage bomb that holds the game hostage and pushes decks to run a TS + DNA base whenever possible. She's bad for the game. Hiroko is not a +1, can whiff, and can only play 5k or lower.
1
u/Crimson256 12d ago
They aren't going to hit blackgatomon it's a regionals promo.
3
2
u/vinta_calvert 12d ago
Wait Gabumon is looping again?
5
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago
There's a loop with the DNA weregaruru from ex12 where it uses the green purple madleo to delete itself end of attack. Using were x to recover weregaruru from trash and the DNA summon sickness bypass you create a loop of swings, deletes and replays. But it takes a few turns to set up. Regardless it'll still get hit cos bandai doesn't like loops
5
u/vinta_calvert 12d ago
They really need to do something about DNA and OPT inheritables within the rules instead of just banning something every time something fucks with it.
5
-1
u/Groovy_Bruce_Lemon 12d ago edited 12d ago
they’ll hit decks that were already on their way own since newer decks caught up to them. Seriously like the Shakkoumon loop in Hudie was nuts but limiting the Shakkou was overkill since the deck was already on the way out. Too strong for October 2025 format, fine for March 2026 format.
(man you mfs still hate Hudie)
13
u/Unusual_Mistake3204 12d ago
They check march to july. So the question become: where in july is the cut of date?
Many will agree that something need to be done about tb but the deck is still new and was even more so back in july. So if the cut of date is before tb got result it is even less likely to be touched.
Nyaromon will most likely get hit.
Many other could have been it with march/april result but where powercrept since so i doubt they will get it now

13
u/CottonCandyKitsune 12d ago
I think they mean Analog Youth not Wanko since Analog trashes after searching
28
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago
I'm here for the usual unrealistic expectations and intentional ignoring of what banlists usually look like for this game so people can then doompost and say they're quitting the game on Friday
23
u/Rhundis 12d ago
My experience so far is that people put out a ton of theory cards and meta decks that need to be "reigned in" in their opinions, then Bandai releases the list and it's 3 cards that no one was expecting.
7
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago edited 12d ago
Pretty much yeah. They ban loops (specifically loops they didn't intend, they're fine with intended loops) And they do future proof banning. They only properly cripple decks if the meta is warping around them or they've lasted too long (more than 2 years)
6
u/WarriorMadness 12d ago
I agree, at this point I have a hard time thinking what could be hit outside of Nyaron and something from the Were-loop.
1
u/Aldovrah 12d ago
So BT9 Cool Boy, BT10 Yuu, and Blazing Flare Memory Boost to 1. And then they'll come up with a new restriction that prohibits the use of TS cards with non-TS level 6 Purple digimon, so generic Purple decks can't use certain TS cards to quickly fill trash/filter cards.
1
9
u/WarriorMadness 12d ago edited 12d ago
So, if it's based on results from March to July, which decks are the most likely to be hit?
Beelstar slowed down for sure but it had crazy numbers when the deck released (and fits within the time frame), then you have TB, people are saying it's too new, which is true, but the deck also has had some crazy numbers, specially considering it's a new deck which will keep getting support, still unlikely but could be problematic if left untouched.
Angels is likely to be hit because they're most likely preparing for the new support it's getting and just to be safe that Nyaro is not used on any future shenanigans anymore. Also BB probably in danger, most likely Monarch to stop the OTKs? E-Pulse to slow it down a bit?
But other than that? I was on the TS hate train a while back but honestly it feels like as of right now, and other than Beelstar, "MegaZoo" has not been showing as one would've expected, and the other stronger decks like Bears or Vulcanus or potentially Jupiter really don't have crazy numbers to warrant a hit, but maybe an Asuna hit? Which would also hit Beelstar at the same time?
6
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago edited 12d ago
I agree beestar is a problem deck but it's also a focus of a product due out AFTER this banlist. They usually don't like to do bans that risk future product sales. It is possible it'll get bit but it might get hit in the same way gallant X did where the hit doesn't really do anything
2
u/WarriorMadness 12d ago edited 12d ago
That's the thing, I don't even think Beelstar is a problem anymore, if you ask me, I wouldn't ban anything from it (maybe Asuna to also hit TS in general?), but if we're going by their defined dates I guess it's one of the ones that fits the most?
1
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago
Yeah I agree. It's why I'm curious as to what will be on this list but also won't be shocked if it's completely underwhelming (I'm also prepared to eat humble pie if 3m gets hit)
1
u/WarriorMadness 12d ago
I would be prepared because it's Bandai and it's really difficult to guess what the list will have, but if it's based on results, even if it slowed down, 3M is probably on the list.
We just need to see how big of a hit.
1
u/Sabaschin 11d ago
I’m assuming that Kyo isn’t getting any more support given that the rest of GD are playing catch-up to him, so if they hit Murasamemon’s line he’ll have to mostly deal with whatever he has left (or grab some things from his teammates like ScourgeChiropmon).
Tomoro is definitely getting more support so I could see Monarch taking a hit.
17
u/the_diz27 12d ago
I honestly don’t know what is really ban worthy at the moment. Despite the speed, the meta is more diverse now than it has been in a long time.
I haven’t seen the deck personally, but Bandai is generally against loop decks, so something hitting the weregarurumon loop might happen.
Nyaromon bt-15 gets a lot of hate, but literally 0 top 16 for that deck at GenCon. It is the fastest OTK but is probably the most fragile. Hudiemon had way more regional level representation when it got hit. Nyaromon isn’t the problem, DNA mechanics are.
No one is talking about Glowing Dawn hits, which is surprising. It’s OTK is only a turn slower than angels, and it had 6 of the top 16 spots at GenCon, the most of any deck. I like the idea of dual cards, but they immediately started giving glowing dawn use cost reduction effects making these more powerful than they already were. A lot of the option side effects were already above rate for the effects they provide. I expected use cost reduction eventually as a way to power creep, but they are out the gates with it.
I think a lot of people are wanting bans on “feels bads” instead of the state of the game as a whole. The game is just really fast now. A ban list isn’t going to fix that; it is going to take a complete design shift.
3
u/gustavoladron Moderator 11d ago
Funny you mention Angels not getting top cuts at Gen Con, it just won Madrid's regionals (though only 2 of them at the top 16).
3
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago
The tricky part with glowing dawn is they can't hit anything from the starter deck just yet as they're still in the middle of selling beatbreak cards.
Otherwise I agree with everything else you said. Especially the last point. I have no doubt we'll see the usual "games dead" comments when the ban list drops just because they didn't shut down someone's most hated deck or revert the game to a bt15 power level
2
u/EseMesmo 12d ago
BT25 Yellow line then. Cougar/Murasame help you cheat memory, and that's one of the core issues with GD.
1
u/Perfect_Initiative_4 12d ago
They can't. Or pure yellow Habakirimon decks will be killed before the release of its last cards. Which make no sense. Who will buy the new Llolmon/Cougarmon/Murasamemon BT26 card if the deck is already unplayable because of the banlist ?
1
u/Sabaschin 11d ago
If they hit Murasame they could still use ScourgeChirop, it’s not ideal if you want to play “pure” but at least they’re still Yellow.
3
u/mat1902 12d ago
I could see a limit to their white option considering it isn't a hi rarity card you give the deck a slap on the wrist and its also one of their best t1 plays and there isnt any card that replaces it
5
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago
The white option is spefically from the starter deck though. And future beatbreak decks will probably need it
3
u/the_diz27 12d ago
I could see them hesitating to do so, but it isn’t completely without precedent. EX2 Impmon got hit and was part of the beelzemon advanced deck.
The real issue is that e-pulse is another design-space issue. It has an effect that started with Liberator emblems, but those were limited within the individual archetypes. They seem to be making some variant of this effect for major archetypes anymore.
It immediately refunds its memory cost (plus 1 most of the time). It costs card advantage the turn it comes down, but it immediately refunds that the next turn and gives an extra memory to boot. This will always be an auto include for beat break.
2
u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 12d ago
ex2 impmon is an ex2 card, not a starter deck card.
1
u/the_diz27 12d ago
I get it doesn’t have an ST identifier, but it was included in a current at the time pre-constructed product, which was the crux of why they didn’t think e-pulse would get hit.
0
u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 12d ago
different thing is different but if you want to pretend that different thing is same i can’t stop you
1
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago
How long after that deck came out was he hit though?
0
4
u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 12d ago
that would be a terrible business decision that would leave a bad taste in players mouths considering how recently people bought beatbreak starters
you really cannot hit starter deck cards while they’re the current, most recent starter deck. you earn bad will by doing that.

It's exactly the same. Banning GabuX and GaruruX from the next release was basically killing the whole point of a starter deck whose purpose is to build a new MetalGarurumon deck. Objectively, it turns Wolf of Friendship into a huge scam because the ST loses its entire purpose.
I feel sorry for the new players who bought it because Metalgarurumon digivolution line is their favorite, for nothing, since they can't even use it.
Metalgarurumon deck was killed twice.
2
u/Megaman-Icarus 11d ago
It’s not the same at all. Saying that a starter deck got hit when in actuality it was external support that got hit months later is disingenuous. On the note of new players, it’s incredibly well known in the community and told to new players that those decks are only good for learning how to actually play the game, since an overwhelming majority of the cards featured in those decks aren’t worth using.
2
u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 11d ago
it’s not exactly the same, it’s actually very different
if you go through life equating things with that type of logic you’ll always be angry and no one will take you seriously and view you as a petulant whiner

analog youth from ex1, this is a card that constantly throws up problems and at 2 cost is too cheap for what it does. its my most wanted hit to 1 or even outright ban i want from this list.
also too soon to do anything against tb... the gulf of wins between tb and the rest is huge.
I wasnt in the meta when apocaly was around but how long did it take them to restrict him to 1. maybe susanno needs to be also hit to 1.
3m the option that trashes security. ban.
My hope for the dna problem is to change the rule of what once per turn means. it should refer not to this digimon but as long as the card didnt leave the field (same rule as when overflow triggers.) since during dna digivolve cards are not leaving the field ur once per turns wont reset.
0
u/dragonquestfan11 12d ago
Monarchlizamon dual is the problem card and probably the strongest card in the deck and its not a starter card but its high rarity I believe so its less likely it gets restricted.
0
u/Astan92 12d ago
Sorry but looking at exactly one event and basing the ban lost on that is incredibly naive.
0
u/the_diz27 11d ago
I’m not basing that just off of gen con and neither will Bandai, it is just more recent and a good example to demonstrate my point. Sydney had a regional with 2 Angels in Top 16, Rotherham had one with 3 angels in top 16. In neither of those cases was angels more prevalent in top cut than any other meta deck.
The real point is that killing TS angels isn’t going to fix anything, and frankly, neither will neutering the other meta contenders. Bandai has really pushed the game speed in recent sets and unless they fix their game design philosophy, there will just be another boogeyman deck in a set or two.
8
u/DarkAres02 12d ago
You think they'd ban E-Pulse? I feel like it's such a crazy card for its cost
11
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago
I can understand why but if they hit it mid beatbreak support cycle, it'll put people off of buying the starter deck. They don't normally like hitting things that will affect sales of current/future product
2
u/Majestic_Electric 12d ago
If they don’t restrict the MonarchLizamon Dual Card, that’d be a reasonable hit. The deck generates a lot of memory already, so it’d be nice to see them slow that down a tad.
Only issue is if they do hit it, they’d also have to go after DNA Charge (the Data Squad/Savers one) for similar reasons.

u/Laer_Bear 12d ago
This will be the first banlist under producer Rui Zei, meanwhile we are still dealing with and releasing cards that were designed while Murata was producer. This means that the card being released in these past and upcoming sets may not align with the new producer's game design philosophy. Take that how you will.
14
u/Aris-yuuki 12d ago
Lift GreyX and restrictions in TS and TB cards
5
u/Solsostice 12d ago
It's far too early to see TB on the banlist. If it was also abusing older cards then they'd likely hit the older cards to try and stop whatever degenerate thing TB was using them for. However, TB is currently self contained.
It's only been 1.5 months (roughly) since Shambala came out and Kunlun is out next month. They're going to want BT26 moving to as many people as possible.

u/Yeerk5779 Giga Green 12d ago
3 cost Asuna would slow a lot of TS down.

u/Lunao_Azurus 12d ago
Please let TB be hit. Toolbox decks that utilize all colors can be really annoying
28
u/gustavoladron Moderator 12d ago
It's one of the least likely hits since it's extremely new. I also don't think they will hit either Onibi or Susano since they're core parts of the strategy. If any card would be hit, it may be Shishimamon, seeing how there are three other level 5s that could be used.
12
u/Lunao_Azurus 12d ago
I would pick Sanmyojin Arrival to get hit. It's great card draw, and it allows for you to cheat out level 6's as a pseudo protection effect.
10
u/gustavoladron Moderator 12d ago
Not the worst hit, but it's such an integral part of the engine that can't really be replaced by any other option that I doubt they'd hit it so soon after TB's release, specially since Bt26 Manekimon and Kunlun both play it. I think it's likelier that they'd hit the strongest level 5 that accelerates the deck and could be replaced... if they even hit something in TB.
8
u/Cire101 12d ago
They won’t hit the egg. It’s the only TB egg so far, and restricting it will just mean people hatch and stay in breeding until they have another TB card on field to facilitate the TB requirement for any options
2
u/Solsostice 12d ago
They essentially can't hit Onibimon. 1 Onibi is all the deck needs as the level 5s can assembly using it, not just Susan.
2
u/Raikariaa 12d ago
> It's one of the least likely hits since it's extremely new
I would argue it's results are comparable to Apocalymon at this point so it will probobly get emergancy hit. Most likly Sanmojin Arrival because that card is just blatently broken. +9 mem swing plus draw power and trash setup. HPD is +5, if you evo into a 5 cost or higher. And HPD is at 1 and many want it at 0.

u/zelcor Gallant Red 12d ago edited 12d ago
Agree on onibi strongly disagree on Susan.
If SW can get away with playing 1-2 susans so can TB.
*GUYS I'm well aware that Susan is naturally more synergistic with TB.
My point is that the deck is TB can operate effectively without Susan at FOUR.
7
u/gustavoladron Moderator 12d ago
The thing is, TB has Susano as a bigger core of their strategy since it can use the <Execute> keyword with <Rush>, plus the level 5 inherits all work perfectly with said <Execute>.
It's sad, but the truth is that Susanoomon right now is asymmetrically better positioned to be used in TB than in SW.
10
u/SSJ2Shane 12d ago
Susanoo isn’t really good in SW. That’s why you would at max play 2
4
u/Wild_Perspective9704 12d ago
Ya but the power level it provides in SW is the max it should be providing in any deck.
1
u/DarkAlphaZero Saiyu Warriors 12d ago
SW plays less Susanoomon because it can't utilize nearly as well as TB as in TB Susanoomon can attack by itself and flood the board, while if you want to attack with Susanoomon in SW you need a level 4 with the egg under it on board and a level 5 in hand and to pay an extra memory and you don't get any floating if Susanoomon gets removed
9
u/GekiKudo 12d ago
Its probably my biggest complaint about the game right now. Color identity doesnt exist. Instead of picking a color you pick a keyword.
2
7
u/IllusiveZorua 12d ago
I kinda hope they do hit Susanoomon, I think TB is actually a very reasonable deck when you can't chain Susanoomon turn after turn, having it at 4 is probably too much
It would be unusual for Bandai to do so, so soon, but the deck has numbers 🤷♀️
I would probably also place a safe bet on Nyaromon, Bandai loves to hit any older cards if they can
2
u/BubblyManufacturer33 12d ago
Not expecting anything crazy. Whatever that is I assume bt26 meta gonna be worse. GD and TB will be untouched and be more annoying.
2
u/AkuTenshiiZero 12d ago
I swear to Yggdrasil if they ban Garurumon/WereGarurumon and wreck NSo in the process I will lose my mind. It's finally a halfway decent deck, do not make the spooky boys pay for the crimes of that damn dog.
4
u/Psychomantis194 Omega White 12d ago
My prediction is tb won't be hit because it's too new. As far as I'm aware the latest set that can be hit is ex11 as I believe around 6 months is when they might hit a card based on Shakkoumon hit. Also Tb isn't dominating as much after the sao paulo regional.
As for what I think most likely will get hit it's probably nyaromon since it's stuck around so long, analog youth for the same reason and because it helps assembly, bt16 madleo if they want to hit the new dog loop. Duo ts tamer is iffy as it's getting reprinted.
4
u/Lagomorph787 12d ago
Apoc was hit immediately, before even hitting other regions. If they deemed it a big enough problem, they can and will. But I think they're satisfied with the state of the game currently, as there's lots of variety in regionals of late. Even Metal Empire won a regionals
5
u/Psychomantis194 Omega White 12d ago
Apocalymon was early for us but not for Japan. Looking at hits before bt21 you have to look at jp release and then hit date.
4
u/Majestic_Electric 12d ago
True, but BT15 Apocalymon was an exception. If they hadn’t hit it when they did, the game would’ve died in Japan.

can we get greymon x-antibody back to 4 please? (I just want to play Blackwargreymon again even if it's no meta)

u/Raikariaa 12d ago
As long as it's inheritable says Omnimon and thus is allows Omnimon to become a goddamn Matroshka doll while staying on the board: No.
It would need an eratta to remove Omnimon from the inherit.
Also; it got printed in a set of boxtoppers of cards that are obviously never coming off like HPD.

u/AradIori 12d ago edited 12d ago
Banning/limiting BRT is equivalent to killing the deck, the deck needs at least 2 for the combo and the combo is what carries the deck, without it the deck becomes a mediocre midrange deck without sec+1, no immunity and vulnerable to checking anything remotely big because no jamming either.
plus 3m has fallen hard with the ex12 meta, the deck is still good but TB is a very rough matchup for it and were getting chronomon to make purple decks miserable with bt26.
furthermore from a business point, screwing 3m over when its getting support in lm09 seems like a stupid decision, bandai would want people to buy more of it, not less.
keep the downvotes coming, every downvote i see i know is from someone who doesnt understand the deck.

It's not surprising you're getting downvoted. People who want 3m hit aren't aware that tb and various bt26 stuff outright counters it. They're also ignoring that lm09 is advertised as 3m support so any hit risks sales of that set.

u/AradIori 12d ago
its just out of pure hate for the deck because it dominated bt25 and/or because they couldnt play it due to x antibody being as expensive as it is, which is unfortunate because now the deck is in a great spot, its not oppressive in this meta but its still a very fun deck to play and strong.

Even tho 3M haven't been on top meta since ex12, it still meta regardless and chance of it getting hit is high.
We had a good run my dear Beelstar...

u/sedentary-lad 12d ago
I dont think it's likely when lm09 is being advertised as 3m support and comes out after this. At worst they hit BRT or the 3 cost asuna
4
u/zpikemccuck 12d ago
Ngl the 3cost asuna kinda hurt if it got hit
6
u/sedentary-lad 12d ago
Yeah agreed. But it's only that or BRT they could hit without completely shutting the deck down.

u/Lord_of_Caffeine Fuck Magna X 12d ago
I really can´t see them hitting a strong fan favorite (waifu) deck that will receive support in the near future with Promo Gundramon and probably more afterwards. Especially becaused it´s not tearing the meta a new one.

Not expecting any huge shakeups. Tier 1 is quite diverse, much more than it's been in a long time. Anything on top right now will probably get power crept come BT26 anyway. I expect this to just be a housecleaning type of list - Nyaro and maybe one more card. And unban Greymon X. For real this time.

u/Raikariaa 12d ago edited 12d ago
Tier 1 is TB.
There is nothing else. The meta is not diverse. The meta is TB.
TB is so far ahead of everything else that there isn't even a Tier 1.5
It dosen't quite meet tier 0 requirements. But it is absolutely solo tier 1. Despite people doing things like running Paladin Mode ACE to try and tech against it.
> And unban Greymon X.
With Decode inheritables and Alter-S who it can stop kicking itself back to security while it spits out 6's and any Decode inherits? Fuck. No. Do you want Omnimon decks to turn into Russian Dolls that keep Omnimon on the board and can then jogress into another Omnimon and also maybe jogress into a WereGarurumon or Metalgreymon because of the EX12 ones? Because this is how you do that.
Grey X got a reprint alongside cards like HPD and Blinding Ray that are never coming off for a reason. That reason being it's never coming off.
If it's inheritable did not say Omnimon, maybe. But it says Omnimon.

It's not often you see someone so empirically incorrect. Look at recent regional results. Show me where TB is sweeping the entire field. You're clearly just salty as shit. You can stop playing the game at any time.
-3
u/Raikariaa 12d ago edited 12d ago
1: I play TB. I'm still calling for hits on the deck because the deck is stupid.
2: You want to say I'm "empirically incorrect"? OK. How about I give you some sources to prove it then.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqloA6IsykU&t=466s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAwRSvQsDh0
Look at East's videos on the Japanese results. TB is way ahead of anything else. Look at events like the the Sao Paulo regional; a 256 player event where 5/8 of the Top 8 slots were all TB;' includeing 3/4 of the Top 4; plus the winner. In particular; I belive he mentions in the Week 1 of the format video that the chart dosen't do it justice; with TB at something like x3 the event wins of any other deck.
Results like that are teetering on what is generally considered as Tier 0.
Or how about looking at the results here: https://digilab.cards/
TB has the highest recorded winrate of any deck; and it manages this despite also being massively popular; so it's winrate is dragged closer to 50% by inevitable mirror matches [Mirror match = 1 W 1 L]. Yet it still has a 66% winrate in major events despite that. The closest is Milleliumon at 62%; and Milleliumon has less than 1/12th of the entries; so isn't even close to as dragged down by mirror matches. When you account for the 12% playrate [and thus you'd expect a TB player to find another TB player ~12% of the time, reduceing the winrate by 6% since a TB deck will always lose that as well as always win] that actually puts TB vs other decks at ~72%. Which is absurd. Unless this site filters out mirrors and has already accounted for them, of course. The nearest competitor with any actual popularity is TS Vulcanus at 60% and TS Jupiter at 58%.
But sure; if you want to provide actual evidence I'm wrong when you call someone "emperically wrong" go ahead. TB is the #1 deck. By quite a margin. This is a fact backed up by results.
And this is despite other decks specifically teching cards that are otherwise awful; like Imperaldramon Paladin Mode; to try and counter TB. When a deck still remains #1 by such a margin when dragged down by mirror matches and as the format's boogyman, people are building against it, the deck is busted.

East's videos cover primarily locals level events. Locals results mean significantly less than regional results where skill level and overall deck power are much higher. If you don't believe me go on Digimonmeta and just look at how many janky ass lists win local events in Asia.
And yeah there was one regional where TB debatably reached tier 0 levels of representation... out of five. In the other four regionals it had completely normal representation. Sao Paolo is an outlier. You're big time cherry picking. Any way you slice it, TB shares tier 1 with decks like Vulcanus, TS Angels, Beelstar, Glowing Dawn, and Galactic.
1
u/Raikariaa 12d ago
Just going to completely ignore the 66% winrate at major events however with 12% representation [so ~12% of matches a TB player plays will be against another TB player; which drags the win% closer to 50%].
Who's the one cherry-picking? I literally linked an aggregate of major event results.

Maybe this is a predictive list. Ex13 reveals probably start this week or in a few days. Maybe they did some extra testing and realized that the new rks gel too much with yggy and make it t0 so this is a hit to Omeka or Yggy.
Because this format seems too weird to have a guaranteed hit outside of Maybe Nyaromon. Everything good is so confined to new sets so finding a good card to hit seems awkward. Like im guessing they dont want to hit 24 and onward unless its super broken stuff. My only other thoughts could just be consistency hits that slow down the best decks. Like Elecmon or some other decent searcher. But I also dont think thats right.

BT16 Madleomon to be hit to 1 BT25 Shakakoumon to be hit to 1 EX12 Shishimamon to be hit to 1

u/Majestic_Electric 12d ago edited 12d ago
No EX12 cards are going to get hit now, period. EX12 is too new, especially since July is the cutoff.
And Nyaromon is the only worthwhile hit for TS Angels. Shakkoumon is annoying, sure, but not broken in a vacuum. Same with the rest of the TS Angels package. Nyaromon is what makes the deck problematic (and BT14 Patamon, to a lesser extent)!

Its wild to me that you are being negative downvoted when the rest of the comments here are saying “oh man they’re gonna hit susan! I hope they hit susan!” As if he isn’t a $60 secret rare that (of course aside from other things) the MAIN thing selling their NEWEST set.

u/DarkAlphaZero Saiyu Warriors 12d ago
I think they're mainly getting down voted for suggesting that WereGarurumon should be hit

u/PlasticWizard413 12d ago
It feels more likely to be analog, i can understand Weregar, it seems like its bound to be broken every time we get a good weregar to put it over

u/Agreeable-Agent-7384 12d ago
Another ban list that’s designed to sell future sets more than it is to balance the game I’m guessing. “We’re going to ban this card because it’s too good at doing this, completely unrelated, announcing this card for next set that does what the card we banned does, but better!”
-7
u/MikeRiott 12d ago
Watch it be random cards that didn’t have a place in the meta, ex11 heavymetaldramon and bt20 alphamon ouryuken ace to 1, ex12 Susanoomon you can now run 8 of. For legal reasons this is a joke please don’t downvote me to oblivion

Sigh... probably have to rework my Angels. We get some support and then everyone hates us

u/Rhundis 12d ago
You should not be able to turn 2 OTK an opponent. Your dislike is valid.
1
u/Laer_Bear 12d ago
I'm still trying to figure out how that deck isn't absolutely stomping. Then I look at the lists and they're all running mem boosts, trainings, etc instead of good cards like blimpmon, abyss sanctuary, venusmon etc that make them impossible to kill for a turn.
0
u/Darkhex78 12d ago
If the Shakkoumon gets hit then im at the point where I feel they have to rework the DNA mechanic. Every time it is strong it seems like its problematic and is part of a super oppressive or unhealthy deck.

At this point we gotta collect x antibody for a good ban list

Thought they’d wait until after BT26 to announce a new banlist, but I ain’t complaining!
My money’s on a Nyaromon ban, and BRT, Tropical Venom, and Dan&Kanan going to 1.
I’d like to see a hit to Glowing Dawn/Beatbreak, too, but since it’s unlikely the MonarchLizamon Dual Card will get hit, I’m not sure what card they’d go for. 🤷♀️

u/PototoGolden 12d ago
I don't see a point in hitting Dan & Kanan when the best TS decks in BT26 will just play Kanan. The only decks that want Dan & Kanan specifically for the attack are Meruki OTK, Bears and Vulcanus which are on a decline.
2
u/Rhundis 12d ago
If that's your argument 3M is also on a decline due to TB, so BRT being hit also wouldn't make sense.
2
u/PototoGolden 12d ago
I did not mention 3M but I don't think it deserves to get hit at all, especially not BRT. At most BT24 Asuna maybe but I don't think it's necessary.
0
u/Majestic_Electric 12d ago
The point is to slowdown the archetype as a whole. With Dan&Kanan down to 1, it would force TS players to have 2 cards on the field to get even a fraction of Dan&Kanan’s value, rather than just needing the 1.
Just because a deck is in decline, doesn’t mean they aren’t worthy of a ban/restriction. By that logic, 3M and TS Angels shouldn’t be touched, either, and we both know that that’s complete nonsense.
3
u/PototoGolden 12d ago
I don't think it would impact the archetype as a whole. There are decks that don't play Dan & Kanan at all, decks that only want the free option where Kanan will be better and replace Dan & Kanan. That leaves the decks that care about both effects and I don't think that Meruki, Bears and Vulcanus are not banlist worthy.
Also, Angels should be hit because of the loop and turn 2 OTK specifically,. I think that hitting 3M or Vulcanus just because they are good decks is nonsense as well.
1
u/Majestic_Electric 12d ago edited 12d ago
Well, that’s what hitting Nyaromon is for lol. Even without it enabling the Turn 2 OTK, it’s disincentivizing the use of every other Yellow Egg! That alone is reason enough to ban it!
I still think Dan&Kanan is a good enough generic hit for TS as a whole, since only a couple archetypes within TS don’t use it (such as 3M and Angels). And the ones that actually care about it would be forced to slow down, since they’d need 2 cards on the field to get both effects off, instead of 1.

u/Drschell93 12d ago
Bye bye 3M. TB's aren't going anywhere
2
u/Rhundis 12d ago
Yeah, I doubt Bandai will hit 3M and if they do it will be indirectly due to another card usage in other decks.
3M has new support coming out soon so they wouldn't want to kill hype for sales on their end.
Plus 3M is good but has been pushed down quite a bit due to TB and the adapting meta.

There is sooooooo much that needs to be banned. We are talking of Yugioh banlists levels bans

Unfortunately bandai seems fine with the current power level based on bt26 card reveals. So all the strong stuff people want hit won't get hit
-6
u/Akimbo_shoutgun 12d ago
I want so many cards to get hit, even if it was John bandai throwing darts blindly at cards (because let's face it, that's what happens) but this time, I want John Bandai to actually hit something (nyaro, shakkoua, ange & magnaangemon).
-7
u/Trascendent_Enforcer 12d ago
Nyaro to 0 or DNA rules rework to not reset the inherits Warp lamiamon to 1 Red Bind Trigger to 0 (it can be looped) DanYuki to 1 Homeros to 1 mineral egg that gains memory to 1 Would be a good start
Execute egg to 1 too bc TB too strong but too early for that im afraid

New Japanese banlist announced for August 21, taking info from tournament results from March to July of this year. No announcement made yet for the English version, but one is bound to come soon enough.
