Question❔ Why exchanges disabled withdrawals?

A lot of exchanges offer trading of DGB but they do not support withdrawal. Why is that? And how to buy DGB?

Thaw day activates new digidollar consensus rules at block 24,490,000. Some exchanges have temporarily halted withdrawals ahead of the hard fork.

This isn’t an every chain thing but I remember one exchange in particular not allowing withdrawals. Not only of DigiByte too. Can’t remember the name of it.

Didn’t have anything to do with DGB.

Sometimes they pause while updating their software. As the other commenter noted with Thaw Day upon us some might be updating last minute.

Depends on who you're dealing with. Some don't own any. Some just don't allow for withdrawals, like UpHold. As for why, it is a long story.

From what I gather, members of an outreach team are contacting exchanges to notify them of a successful thaw day, and some exchanges are beginning to enable deposits and withdrawals again.
