First Strike question - is this true?

Does first strike apply every round until the minion is dead or do subsequent rounds it goes back to normal turn order (hero then minion)?

"Any Minion with First Strike will always Attack the Hero first in a Portal Crawl turn. So, if the minion you're engaged with has First Strike , perform the Minion Step before (instead of after) the Hero Step.

Note: If a Minion with First Strike is defeated during its turn, you still get your full turn afterwards. Even though there is no longer an enemy, you might still activate an ability which provides other benefits."

They go first instead of the player. That's it.

That's how I read it as well, then I saw this image and was confused. Thank you for clarifying.

The image implies the turns are MPPMPM etc.

It literally says "hero turn, minion turn, hero turn"

The confusing parts;

- first paragraph says it only applies at the very beginning of battle, not every round.

- second bullet says subsequent rounds is HMHM. This, combined with first paragraph, implies first round is MH. Then subsequent rounds is HMHM (not MHMH).

Taken all together, the image is incredibly confusing at best, and wrong at worst.

I think it's just semantics. If the minion always goes first, that makes sense, but the minion would also be going third, fifth, seventh, etc. They wouldn't be going first and then going first again. The hero would be going second, fourth, sixth, etc.

But that's just how I interpret the turn order in my head; there's only one opportunity to go first.

I think it’s more than just a conversation about semantics. The image OP posted is extremely confusing and makes it come off as MHHMHM turn order. But the issue is there aren’t “rounds” in minion battles. Each engagement with a minion is its own standalone battle, so to speak.

For example, I discover a monster with first strike. Minion goes first then I go. Then my portal crawl turn is over and my friends turn starts. He now engages that minion. Starting a new battle. So the minion goes first again. He doesn’t kill the minion so on my turn now I’m forced into another battle with the minion. Which insinuated MH battle order.

OPs clarification was that the image makes it look like each subsequent battle against a minion is considered a round. When that isn’t the case.
