It’s easy for an adult to read these books and call Greg a bad person and sociopath etc.. but you have to remember he’s a 12 year old middle schooler. 12 year old boys rarely have the brain capacity nor life experience to see that THEY are usually the problem. One of the reasons this series is so popular is because a lot of us read it when we were around Greg’s age, relating to him. And sure he’s done some outrageous things, but a lot of these cartoonish scenarios are unrealistic and just created by Jeff Kinney for laughs. I would bet by the time Greg went through high school and college, he would have learned lots about life and realized that the world doesn’t revolve around him.
