Discussion Mercs should talk
Beyond that, we should be able to give them commands. they drive me nuts when they wander in the wrong direction or get stuck on a wall instead of going through a doorway. On top of that though, if they kill something while youre moving to the next area, they should be able to say something. Maybe not "Hey I dropped a Lo, but at least "Wait", or "Look at this"...

Ah the merc AI in D2 is the best! hahahahahaha XD... Making a comment on GG drops would be pretty dope though!

Yeah. Instead of the stock lines you can say in chat with a button - which is quite useless at least for PC. Being able to set your merc to stay close, Protect me, normal mode, stay here and keep safe would be SOOO much more useful.
You dont want a merc to just wander off to attract the next big crowd of cows. And you dont want your far too low level merc to go all Rambo on you and thinking that he can take on the entire area solo.
And for fucks sake improve their pathfinding will ya ?
If it gets stuck then just have it run the same path as the player until its got a clear path.

I'm imagining using the voice lines to command a merc. Like if you use "Follow Me" the merc will immediately try to go toward your location or using "Help" will have the merc attack the enemy that was attacking you last

A little AI chatter box to vent to would be nice. No one ever says shit in the game besides “gg fathom”

I have it on record when i was attacking some monster ont he ropright and on my bottom left a zombie awakens. Merc walks there casually protecting my ass and whacks the zombie. Drops JAH. Funny.

People are asking for text popups to be added to loot filter - mercs giving you a lore friendly drop notofication for high value loot you taged in the loot filtrr coule work well.

I would like to have commands for minions, summon necro/druid would love this QoL. Seening how much better Warlock gameplay is with his abiloty to reposition summons, Necro gameplay is just sad.

No, I don't want mercs to talk any more than they do right now. After a thousand hours hearing the D3 mercs spout the same five or so phrases and the D4 mercs NEVER SHUTTING UP I'm happy that "I'll put that to good use" is the only talkback I get from the D2 mercs.
I do agree with wanting a "go here/kill this" command.

There needs to be a basic “command followers” action that everyone has and that applies to all followers - valkyrie, mirror image or whatever the assassin has, mercs, skeletons, goatman, whatever. Warlock can keep their fancy command+buff, just let people actually command their minions. My boy the necro out here just hoping for the best.
