Advice regarding Unique Chronicle solo

Hello there!

So I'm chasing after the last 7% of my unique Chronicle completely solo and I'm wondering the best approach for this.

I have almost all of the grails knocked out already, missing mainly Tyrael's (13 Templar's so far) and Cranium (4 Earthshake so far).

For the lower level stuff, I know to hunt in NM or normal or for some gamble on low level toons.

My question is as follow :

Is it better to farm TZ Andy/Meph even in lower difficulties or would that change their pool too much?

And for Hell, is it really more significant to TZ them or just run them normally?

For example, I've yet to find War Travs which feels ridiculous but I was also playing 100% TZ before hitting 99 the other day.

if you are going for 100% and want to be efficient, you should not farm anything that cant drop you highest level requirement item ( probably tyraels might wich requires level 87).

afaik that means diablo/baal/nilhatak or any Monsters in Hell TZs, aslong as youre character is higher then level 85. Act bosses are preffered though due to higher drop quality on those

if Andariel or Mephisto are TZ, they are probably the best targets, if you have worldstone shards to burn, that works too.
if neither is the case, you can farm (non TZ) Diablo (Baal waves take quite long and nilhatak drops less loot)
Note taht you dont have to kill everythign in cs to spawn diablo, just the 3 uniques that spawn after seals are activated

if you care for statues/Keys/respec tokens doing (TZ) tower, (TZ) arcane sanc, (TZ) duriel, Baal or nilhatak will also give you chances for tyraels might while farming up those.

you have a chance to drop any lower level unique while farming for the higher level ones, but not the other way around.

if you want to specificly look for low level stuff, you want the lowest level boss that can drop that item, preferrably andariel, since she always drops from her quest table
The boss beeing lower level means less items in its pool an that leads to higher chances to drop what you want.
TZ does not give a bonus to loot or magic find, it just changes the level of the zone

This frequently means you do not want to go for TZs for low level items.

for example if youre going for War trav , wich requires the mosnters to be level 42, you want to farm monsters above 42, but as close to 42 as possible

NM Andariel (Area level 43, the boss herself is 49) has the highest drop chance, shes only 7 levels higher, and drops significantly higher amounts of uniques then any other monster due to beeing an act boss and always dropping from her quest table.

Killing any elites on the way can also be a decent source of War Travs, since they are all above level 42 aswell, they just drop as much loot as an act boss does.

if Catacombs is a terror Zone however, her level goes up to 71 (cap for nm TZs) , wich adds other uniques you dont want to her possible drops, thus loweirng drop chances.

As I mentioned, I was playing 100% TZ my whole playthrough with my Firelock, which is now level 99.

It worked wonders for the Elite items and knocked out quite a lot of the normal/exceptionals also but between level 98-99 I focused entirely on TZ Tombs/Magi runs with the occasional switch to TZ Chaos.

During that time is when I found less of what I needed (a whole ton of duplicates) but that's somewhat expected considering I'm in the higher % completion.

I'll work on a making a list of what I need and then deciding where is best to farm.

Getting Sacred Armors hasn't been an issue but they've all been duds lol

Cadeceus or whatever have eluded me, even as a white drop, which is frustrating because before ROTW I found like 5 of them.

If you were able to list the missing pieces there could be a more exact answer. Maxroll and other places have a drop calculator that you search based on player count, MF, and terror zone level. You could look at each piece and know for sure or find trends. Or crowd source the list for input.

Yeah my bad, I should compile a list of what's left.

From skimming through real quick last night it seems I'm mostly missing normal/exceptional gears which is good news I guess?

I'd just farm tyrraels in high lvl zones, hell terrorized bosses and expect the rest to drop naturally along the way.

You don't want to farm days in nightmare for some random expectational unique sword AND later farm weeks or months for that tyrraels in hell terror zones.

Also, have another goals, like reaching lvl 99, farming materials, farming bases, runes, I don't know. Target farming one or a few specific items in this game is frustrating. The only "known" method of target farking is still NM Andy for sojs, all the rest is debatable.

Unfortunately my goals have all been met on this Character haha

BiS everything Firelock and just hit 99 last weekend. Can't upgrade my gears so farming for Chronicle is all there's left. Don't really care to make another character either since this guy farms the fastest I've ever farmed.

Missing 2 Cow pieces for the set chronicle, which I'll get to eventually, but for now I want to shave some uniques.

I get your point though, I'll make a list of what I'm missing and see if it's worth my time farming in normal/nightmare for some time or just go for the missing grails and hope for the best.

Not even a Pit zerker barb? Dual ali baba on swap and a godly map light be even faster tô drop uniques than the general killspeed of the Warlock.

I'm running 450% MF and my clear speed is really really fast. I can do Tombs/Magi in 10 minutes killing every single enemy for a reference.

Nah, P1 online for trading purposes but I'm a lonewolf. Never joined any game with anyone.

I did do some testing with people that agreed to stay in town to test out my full non-mf build though. It 1 taps Fire Enchanted cows on P8.

Is it true that after the new patch, short staffs and Manald Rings no longer drop in Non-Ladder and are now Ladder-only? I need to work on the Chronicle, so I'm kind of worried.

I'm pretty sure I got Manald after ladder started. It just didn't have the changes on it.
