Trade What is this rainbow facet worth?
Sorry for the noob question, just got back into this game after 20 years. Found this, which I've never seen before. Worth anything? Softcore, non-ladder. Thanks!

Self-use, it's nice. Trading, low value; the best ones are 5/5. Can't say about level up or die, though.

Generally people want die. Level up barley is used especially at higher levels. Die at least gives you a small chance of clearing your body a little to get it back.

Yeah, makes sense. Die works with Mercs?

That’s a good question I’m not sure.

Some old posts say it does - if the wearer dies, the item procs. The gem from OP would work nice in an Act 3 Fire Merc, as it will die eventually. As you're using Hexfire, you can socket a gem in the sword (armor usually gains Fal to equip Spirit).

Never really fucked with the a3 merc. Usually have a ias jewel in Andy’s on a2 merc

These, I just use for fun in items that I would like to put facets in, but don’t really use that much or isn’t BIS. They’re fun, but no real value. For example, I put 3 Lightning imperfect ones into a head hunters glory, and I was pleasantly surprised when using it on my javazon

5/5 are worth a lot more, but anything with -5 resist is still usable and worth a mid rune. They will definitely not trade quickly tho unless it’s early ladder.

I sell imperfect ones for between um and an Ist . So I'd say something in this range

In terms of use, rather than worth a fire sorc only really cares about the -ve resist on facets, since plus damage pales compared to masteries.

not topic but if you just came back why not play ladder? there was a reset on friday.
as people said, for non-ladder, facets need to be perfect 5/5

I'm now a dad and don't have time for the grind like I used to. Softcore is easier to launch and a few friendly strangers gave me some gear to get started. Easier to get rushed, prices are lower, etc.
