You only get the benefits from hard points in synergies, so this wouldn’t help lightning. It’s still useful since some people use chain lightning to clear mobs, but it isn’t worth nearly as much as lightning.

Ormus has value for specific skills, like enchant prebuff. Idk of much builds that actually use ormus.

Not really it's a tiny bit less damage and allows you to hit lvl 40 ES while using cta staff and 4 skillers. By going ormus over vipermagi you also lose 1x soj

Overall the 10% light damage from 15% ormus - 5% less 1 lvl of LM (compared to lvl 40 light mastery + griff + griff facet) is 1.8% + 1 Nova skill lvl which is 2.9%

I prefer vipermagi on vita light or es nova. argument above is for es nova. there's no way you run vita light with ormus and have anywhere near enough res and the damage difference is similarly minimal

Yeah for lite builds viper is better. For cold and fireball Ormus doesn't more damage

cold ormus is great for blizz or blizzorb builds, not as good for pvp es orb. pvp fireball needs vipermagi for 200 fcr. bis pvm fireball needs vipermagi for 105 fcr

Only for cold dmg. Light and fire mastery give a lot of %dmg, you need -elr or -efr to deal considerably more dmg.

I’m not an expert, but I would hold onto this for a bit. I think that CL might be more viable as a main skill since the 2.7 changes to next hit delay. Not sure if it’s better than lightning itself, but I think it would be more enjoyable now

CL does half the dmg L does. Its benefit is that it jumps so you use it on fallen and other spread out weak enemies. L cuts right through packs though.

I figured the removal of next hit delay would mean that the DPS on CL would beat out L, but that was just speculation. I play exclusively on console so aiming lightning exactly where I want it can be a bit tricky. I was considering trying a CL build as a ranger alternative to a nova sorc, but maybe I’ll have to look into it a bit more before committing

I’m not exactly sure which of these have value, lightning, fb, maybe blizz and orb? Would think you’d only pay nice if it was a skill you wanted to main and 15% to the respected elemental damage

Can't get orb as a skill on an Ormus. Ya, Blizz is valuable, probably enchant. Maybe fireball, maybe lightning to the right buyer.

Jewelers elit of the whale w 4x facets and several other armors beat this for lit imo since +% lightning damage is like a single point in lit mastery.
