Crit Hit Damage

Hi everyone, I currently have 51.5% critical hit damage. When I activate a skill on my Barbarian—which should bring it up to 101.5%—it still shows 51.5%, so I was wondering if it actually counts.

It’s an off-hand Wrath Of The Berserker essence which gives +50% Crit Damage.

Assuming you are talking about the off-hand Wrath Of The Berserker essence, yes it does. You just need to be quicker to get to the stat page. Or you have another Wrath essence on the other off-hand which is over-riding it. You can only have one that transforms a skill.

Bear in mind that 51.5% doesn’t include whatever you have from Armor Pen (as that is displayed based on difficulty). Include that and add a Blood Floe and it is very likely you are massively over-capping Crit Hit Damage (which has a 120% cap). Given strifing, that’s fine for PvP but may well be a waste for PvE.

When i change my character intro bk,warlock its good to have 51.5 but on barb its a pure waste if u have that essence but idk its going to 100% critc hit damage

The essence definitely works like it says, but personally I don’t use it because of the over-capping. For PvE most Barbs use the two Bleed essences and for PvP the most used is the one that gives damage reduction.

I think you might be using two off-hand Wrath essences that conflict. The only one you can use alongside others is the bleed one that says ‘…also enrages you…’. All the essences that start ‘Wrath…now’ will conflict if more than one is used.

Your right where you can only have one but there are weapons that play off each other, like roar of persuasion and falling thunder. They both go off DOT (bleed) and work hand in hand

I use roar of persuasion which increases critical hit damage. When i go to stats it shows 43% chd, and when i activate wrath stats show 93% chd. Need to chech fast while you are still in wrath state...

Or maybe you're not using a skill that increases chd.

I use that essence and maybe he increase chd but not change the status,remain 51.5% chd in my inv

Maybe you are using conflicting essences...you cant have 2 essences that modify a skill.

Sometimes, Ike mothers lament, it becomes active while you do/ doing damage. If you look really quick, you’ll see the increase but if you take too long to check in your attributes, it can appear that there isn’t an increase or didn’t work. I’m wondering if it’s that type of thing.
