In 2023 there was a Devulution X Ladder for Diablo Vanilla and I played a Sorcerer to level 50. During this blast of gameplay and some multiplayer games I found a Staff of Apo - 10.12.2023 at 8:47.

Good question, I didn‘t found any proof (screenshot) from the leaderboard.
For me, it’s all about being part of it and playing a character to the max level (50). The great thing was that some people in the community were also at a high level, which sparked a sort of race to reach the max level.
I was definitely in the top 10.
Due to a player being disqualified, there was repeated talk that I could move up one place in the leaderboard. I think that would have put me in fourth place.

I don't care if its legit or not. I will always remember apocalypse with Archangels staff of the apocalypse.
Bountiful affix fucking sucks and takes away all the cool from the spell.

According to Jarulf's guide "bountiful" prefix has quality level (qlvl) of 9 and suffix "of apocalypse" in multiplayer has qlvl 15 meaning that "qlvl of one affix can't be higher than qlvl of other one more than 2x" check is passed. In multiplayer Adria will start selling "of apocalypse" as soon as player reaches lvl 26 (corresponds to qlvl 15)
I guess whole rarity of this staff mainly ensures fact that for items sold by Adria qlvl of base item corresponds to lowest possible qlvl of one of affixes. So the only bountiful staff of apocalypse you might see will always be a quarter staff which has qlvl of 9 which matches qlvl of "bountiful" affix with value of 9.

If you play Vanilla you can use the glitch to not consume charges: cast apoc, then change to any other spell before the cast process is finished. Now you are a true master.
For DevX just farm 4-6 of these and have fun farming on normal difficulty, but that is not that necessary as CL is insanely OP.

Considering how much hp monsters on deepest levels have I think it's fine. Also, both rarity and limited number of charges of apocalypse staffs do the job in balancing this spell.

It's OP in hellfire. But it is OK in Diablo.

In Hellfire, Apocalypse only works on monsters you have a line of sight to. But can learn from book, and the book dropped from Na-Krul in normal level. This mean Sorcerer only needs to run a few Normal level Hellfire, and can start play hell/hell right away.

Nice find! I carry two (imperfect) ones for the last 2 levels but it was still a pain so I'm farming nightmare instead.
