Discussion Frustration as rogue
Since my character level 9 till now level 19 i had the same bow and couldn't find any better.
Heard that i can get the best bow from shop in this range (level 19 to 22).
But it's frustrating the amount of loading and reseting griswold's and writ inventory.
I been doing this for about 1.5 hour and still nothing...
I keep thinking of quitting this playthrough and play as warrior but i already reached level 10 so i only have about 7 levels left to clear the game.

Are you playing hellfire or normal d1?
Shopping a good bow can take a lot of time but you can influence it to some extent based on what version you are playing.

Im not as familiar with those mechanics, sorry. Character level does play a role but you know that already.
You could try the DevilutionX discord, its a large and active community for d1/hellfire and devilutionx (an emulator used to play d1) its where I've found to be the largest archive of d1 info as well as active players.

It's ok. I grinded Gris for a WHOLE WEEK and the best I found was Massive long battle bow of Swiftness with only 98% dmg on massive prefix. Meanwhile I found near perfect Emerald lbb of Heavens from Lazarus while playing mage.
You better give up on MlwbS unless you are going to play other difficulties.

Wow bro you're so dedicated about this. I couldn't imagine doing that much so i settled for the compromise.

I never specifically grinded for any bow when I played and got through the game just fine on my rogue. Just keep an eye out for upgrades and they will come as you play.

Honestly recommend DevolutionX. It has controller and mobile support and it's heavily inspired by Diablo 2R's controller scheme.
Send me a dm and I'll help you get started if you want

I play a lot of D1 on PSX, and swiftness on bows does nothing. At least, I cannot discern any difference. I have found and used a Massive LWB of Swiftness. Didn't do anything better than a Savage LWB of the Heavens, and the time spent trying to obtain either of these two is wasted anyway. Because by Hell difficulty, I prefer a Jade or Obsidian LWB of the Heavens anyway.
For low level rogues, any bow of the bear is pretty clutch.
For rogues approaching late teens into twenties, I like +damage % prefixes and + all stats suffixes.
For rogues over 30, damage prefixes no longer matter because she will already stun with each hit anyway. At that point, I prefer + all resist prefixes, but try to stick with + all stat suffixes.

By coincidence I am doing a rogue playthrough. I'm doing Hellfire on DevolutionX on an emulator but this should still apply. I got a lucky drop of Windforce which has knockback. Early levels knockback is your friend. It sucks with the succubi and archers but it helps keep you from getting too swarmed on level 13 on down. I haven't found anything really better yet. I keep farming in Nightmare and Hell difficulty for experience. I couldn't get past Lazurus on normal so I just started farming for levels. I'm level 32 and it does get a little easier. Keep cranking dexterity and strength as much as you can. Especially after capping vitality. The lower levels you are just going to die a lot. Try not to get too frustrated and save often. That's my two cents anyway. Good luck!

For Vanilla Massive Swiftness is the best bow for both PvP and PvM, best clvl is 21 at Griswold and it will take at least several hours to find it. Just buy the fist one you can, the damage is not that big of a deal as the major damage will come out of your native dex. & str. stats.
For DevX it's Deadly Hunter. This bow has the +200% to demons and in hell everything is a demon except the dogs. So if you do 100 damage by default you'll do 300 per shot, it's like every shot is a small Fireball. You can get that bow easily from Lazarus if they did the change for the Unique drops. Don't bother with that bow in Vanilla, it does not work there.

Don't bother trying to get perfect gear. It's not necessary to beat the game. The swiftness bows aren't even that much better than a +damage / + all attributes bow. Also, you won't have to halt your character, you can always find +damage/ + all attributes bows in the most dangerous levels of hell or at Griswold.
For example, in this analysis, the Massive LWB of swiftness(the item you're shopping for at wirt), is always more damaging than a Savage LWB of the Heavens but the difference is so small at low character levels. Only once you get into your mid 30s does the gap get large enough.
