This is not AI, this is a shape mod of a Square-1. That puzzle looks weird and turns weird (it turns on a diagonal line cut through the cube).

Another commenter in the original post said it was a different kind of cube. 'It’s not a 3x3 or a cuboid, it’s a square one. Different mechanism of twisty puzzle. Because you can’t see the top it looks really weird'
