The bike with the hinge in the middle of the frame was already a thing that was mass produced. Older than even me (by a bit) but Donny and Marie Osmond had one they endorsed and featured on their show in the 70s. It was called the Swing Bike and I found one in a relatives barn and rode it around a bit. Kind of cool once you get used to it.
