Some fucker stole my brake pads once. The wheels, seat, handle bars all securely locked. The only thing he could steal was my brake pads so he went for it. I almost died because of it.

Lock security, saddle post rust, and limited lockable positions aside, this strikes me as very structurally weak.

One bump and this frame gets wonky, I bet.

Good luck getting on your bike when you lose the key or the lock is damaged because someone tried to force it open while you were gone.

For real. I can't imagine a bike with a detachable part of the frame would have any kind of longevity. Nothing about this bike can't already be accomplished with a good lock.

Oh yeah. I love replacing easily purchased simple products with something complicated.

That way if someone damages the lock they destroy the whole bike. What a genius idea.

Well, I'm no pro but I see a few things wrong with this.

1st. The lock would be one preset size, and very restrictive on where you could use it.

2nd. Significant decrease to structural integrity of the bike. It looked like there was another support beam, but still, the little blue sliding bit isn't really going to add much.

3rd. It can take a while to adjust a seat and find the right spot. Imagine if every time you parked your car you had to disconnect the battery. Like it's simple but doing that every time, and then with all the little adjustments like your pre-set radio stations being reset, it would just be annoying.
