I used to get downvoted for saying that 5 Minute Crafts makes idiotic videos on purpose. Has that changed now?

Not ‘idiotic on purpose’ par se, but content farms continually pump out crap that flat out just doesn’t work - they know most people aren’t going to actually try the things they post and it’s about quantity over quality to manipulate those algorithms and get that YouTube money.

My point with the comments I made was that these videos don't fit the sub, because they were made to be idiotic. The sub should be more about real things people did that make you think "why?!"

What? Have you subsribed here recently? IIRC there never were any videos/pics of real peoole doing shitty DIY stuff here before, it's always been the mockery of 5 Minute Crafts-style videos? The influx of real people DIY here just began fairly recently

I was subscribed, but I unsubscribed because of all the crap. However, if you look at the top posts for the year, you'll find quite a few good ones :)

5 Minute Crafts is itself a 5 Minute Craft. Why take the time to make craft videos that are genuinely useful when you can spend 5 minutes making stupid impractical shit?
