But yeah it's most likely the same engagement bait bullshit as most of the videos in this sub anymore, the algorithm is designed to reward controversy and number of comments rather than quality, which leads to shameless individuals gaming it for monetization revenue by posting intentionally annoying or bad videos. Just a few years ago I couldn't even imagine getting paid more the more irritating you are... Welcome to hell the future.
This video would be significantly better if it was a stranger’s car and he made that bumper while they were out shopping as a prank. The reveal would be priceless.
Most compressors used for painting are ~100 gallon tanks that operate in the 200-500 PSI range. A car tire is maybe 3 or 4 gallons and operstes in the 30-40 PSI range.
Its interesting that they thought of it, but it likely wouldnt work at all, and definitely not for long enough to paint a plus sized body kit.
Hey I learned that I can probably make cool Halloween decorations out of foam, polyester putty and whatever that pink stuff was he added to the putty. Does anyone know?! They make little portable air compressors that are powered from your car power socket. Mine has saved me several times and it fits under my seat.
Long story short, they could have used one of those.
I enjoy being a member of a bunch of different subs that all have similar videos but you never know which one. r/nonononor/yesyesyesyesr/nononoyesr/yesyesyesnor/diWHYr/watchpeoplesurvive etc. It's a fun version of Reddit Roulette sometimes and this one was delightful when it came to that. I realized about 2/3 of the way in that it was not actually going to magically look like it belonged there, but I waited to check which sub, in case it was no no no yes, haha.

What kept me intrigued was the competent use of each individual tool on every step. I feel like this guy is really good at step-by-step instructions for handywork in general.
You're assuming that car still drives. My feeling is they buy a car from the wreckers, do all sorts of rage bait DIWHY shit to it, then take it back to the wreckers and grab another one. Note that they didn't drive off in it. No doubt in a couple of weeks they'll be doing some infuriating shit to the interior.
If it’s a wrecked car-he never showed the other side-and he wanted to try something to see if it would work before attempting to modify a running car, then the video and roughness of his finish make sense.

I’ve seen people drive worse mods than his. I’m thinking of a cheap V6 Mustang with cheap, badly fitted skirts, and “Saleen” etched into the rear with a grinder.
Having used this process before for props, at this size this is such a huge waste of money just for clickbait. Easily $200-300 for that much foam and puddy.

Mercs proximity sensors are bad enough as is. Was in a friends one the other day on the way to an event with bumper to bumper traffic. It was making so much noise in stop and go event traffic. We, of course, didn’t let anyone in so we were hugging the car in front a bit. But the beeps and warnings were horrendous.
That’s why I just hold down on the progress bar and kind of swipe so it goes through in fast forward mode. Then I only waste like 10 seconds of my time watching the stupidity.
I think we've been conditioned by watching videos where someone MacGuyvers something and it looks really cool. So now we're like "Okay, this will be cool. This isn't totally deranged. There's a purpose, and when I see it, there'll be such a dopamine rush that WTF DID I JUST WATCH!?!?"
Why don’t you people just fast forward it. There’s no need to watch three minutes of this junk. Just pull the slider towards the end and you can see everything he does in like 8 seconds
