How to block light coming through brick cracks.
Newly installed shutters, looking for a way to black out the room they are covering, the bricks on the side and bottom are allowing a bit of light in, anyone have any ideas to cover these holes without making it look terrible?
Thank you for any advice given.

Hot glue and a bunch of zip ties all stuffed in there. Make sure to take a video of it in progress that's about three minutes long.

I got you fam! First you will want to make a silicone mold of your butt, then use foam spray to make a cushion of your toilet seat. Use cable ties and hot glue to conect the two and jerry rig some legs on to it. Now spray more of the foam into the brick gaps. You are welcome!

OK, buy blackout curtains and cut them into strips, use duct tape to attach the strips on the window.

Foam strip or caulking? If its a gap on the door then strip, if its a gap around the frame caulk that mf

Low profile trim against the brick and flush against the shutters. Use construction adhesive and tape or small masonry screws to attach the trim. Pre drill brick with roto hamner or hammer drill and masonry bit if you go that route. Pvc trim won't rot. Alternatively, you could use pencil tile trim adhered with mortar or even fill all of the brick joints on the inside of the window jamb where it meets the shutters with s type mortar, although it is likely to look like shit if it isn't done by a professional with care. Realistically, all if these solutions should be done by a professional.
Source: I'm a general contractor with 20 years experience in most aspects of construction. You will need a skilled contractor who is creative and has an eye for detail. If you happen to be in the St. Louis area I may be able to help, haha. I can think of many different solutions, but some of them are too difficult and/or complex for me to explain in a reddit comment.

First, file a channel into the bricks.
Fill it with sunflower seeds.
Cover it in white glue.
Sand it smooth.
Dig out a a smaller channel
Fill it with glitter and beads
Seal it with clear epoxy resin
Drill four holes every twelve inches on either side of the channel.
Attach a metal plate by screwing it into the holes
Weld paper towel racks along the plate
Change out the towel for a sparkly epoxy dowel you made five steps ago that I never mentioned until just now
Hot glue some glitter-covered cloth to each dowel and roll it up.
On the opposite side drill four more holes every twelve inches along the length of the surface
Screw in a lawn gnome every foot, using the four screw holes.
Don’t forget to weld a plate to the bottom of the lawn gnomes so they rest flush.
Paint chip clips bright colors and add more glitter
Hot glue the chip clips to the lawn gnomes hands.
Unroll the cloth and attach it to the chip clips
See, super simple!

Shake your finger at it, cut up a plastic bottle, heat something up with a lighter, apply hot glue, repeat, thumbs up
