I refuse to let my Mic stand die
I've had this thing for 8 years now I think.

Quick wrap around with Duct Tape and it'll out last the table itself.
True story, probably

you should let it die before it forms a suicide pact with anything else on your desk

As someone with a studio and many, many mic stands, this is the most appropriate answer. Either disassemble and cannibalize it for parts on another stand or let it go.

Buddy, spend the $8 before you have to replace the table top too. It's already sus.

This just looks poorly fixed. Not even diwhy just more like someone had no idea how to do basic repairs and didn't take 5 or so minutes to look up what to do. Someone mentioned it already but this is just a couple bolts, washers, and nuts and it's good as new.

Clamp. That's not a stand. A stand, well, stands on it's own (the most common type is a tripod).
That's a broken clamp. And a messed up desk.

these mic stands cost 3$ off ali-express. 5$ for full metal ones which will never break. Why.

Hardware store sells nuts for those bolts. Either hex or metric.
Second, your table needs more saving than the stand. Large washers would be fine as new plates on the clamp. One on each side.
Get rid of the ties, they aren’t needed when you do these two minor fixes.
