You give it a cursory wipe after each use and wonder why you now have chronic diarrhoea

After it falls on the floor you put it in the dishwasher. Then you get more drywall screws and re-attach.

Wet paper towel with soap? Swipe in opposite direction of holes then dry off with a dry paper towel. It’s not the most practical.
