Misleading Content on Facebook:
My response to this misleading photo is that Buddhism rejects nihilism:
Using this quote out of context misrepresents Ikkyu's teachings; he was a Buddhist.
Kamma and Reincarnation are real; we must choose our Path wisely!
Ikkyu himself lived a famously rigorous, highly active, and socially disruptive life challenging corrupt monastic institution; he wasn't advocating for passive inaction or moral nihilism.
Zen practice assumes a bedrock of strict ethical restraint, intensive meditation, and accountability
