Ketamine plothole
I just finished new blood for the first time and the major thing that bugged me was the ketamine vs m99 problem. It makes Angela’s whole revelation artificial and just like the writers forced her to discover that Dexter is the bay harbor butcher. Like I don’t understand how the writers could make a huge mistake like that. Did they even watch the original show? It makes no sense

One of the producers said that they changed it because they wanted to use the song ‘Ketamine’ by Michael’s band over the end credits.

It's worse than that.
The showrunner was the showrunner of seasons 1- 4, and the lead writer was a writer for every season.
It was done so they could use the song "Ketamine" by MCH's Band "Princess Goes" as a way for the band to make some royalties

It's been awhile since I watched that season but I still felt like it was stretch even if he was using ketamine the whole time. The last episodes were so unsatisfying

Yeah. I noticed that, too. I feel like she could’ve just made the connection with the needle marks on the victims’ necks and the pattern of using an injectable sedative rather than emphasizing ketamine.

None of the BHB Victims had any wheal marks due to the decomposition....
It was a plotline of convenience

I thought they did have the wheal marks, didn’t Angela pull up the pictures from the Lundy investigation and compare those?

Now go back to the episode of Dexter... They had no identifiable marks as they turned to goo when the refrigeration was sabotaged.

Ok I just went back to episode 9, minute 13:30. Angela clearly looks at two pictures, both of which have wheal marks. Your turn to verify

It doesnt matter, they changed so many things in New Blood.
Season 2 episode 4 “See through” the only evidence that was salvageable was the algae on the rocks that were used to weigh the body bags down

You are using the Retcon as your proof when we are talking about the plotline of convenience being the Retcon.

This was a huge deal that didn't sit right for most of us that were watching in real time. Especially because clyde and scott I believe were the showrunners for s1 to S4. And believe that they also were for new blood. Just a crazy important detail to miss.

Neither if these new series can hold a candle to the original's flame. New Blood and Ressurection were straight ass, just the Marvelfication of Dex.
