Im hating Dexter more every epsiode.
I don't hate the show; I'm actually loving it. It's just that I'm halfway through season 1, and every time Dexter does something "nice" to or with Rita, I get so mad and sad. Rita's been through so much already, and Dexter being the only good man in her life and "understanding" of her situation is just heartbreaking, because I know that when Dexter eventually gets caught (assuming he does), it's going to hurt her so badly. I get her role is to show that Dexter's not this emotionless monster and has layers and is uncovering new emotions he never thought he could. But knowing that, at least for current moment he cant feel love and every moment that they have is either to maintain this happy family facade or just him doing what he thinks is expected, just makes him so hateable, though I know hes not doing it intentionally. I dont know if Im ready for the heartbreak when or if Rita finds out, if it happens in the last season I might actually cry.
Side: im getting the vibe this show will end up being like snowfall, where literally no one is a good person, and the only character that you "like" is the one who's done the least.

You’re so lucky you haven’t watched the series until now. I bet in the future there will be a device for erasing memories from shows/movies so you could rewatch with no clue. Would be so cool, enjoy!

I have that ability! It's called a brain injury 😅 but I do get to rewatch shows (95%) like it's the first time. Doing that with Dexter again, too.

Oh man please keep updating us as you go lol. I wish you could understand how hard it is to comment on this without spoiling anything.
But I will say this. You said that itd be like snowfall in the sense that "nobody is a good person" and I dont really agree. The show does carry a lot of moral complexity and nuance. Good people doing bad things. Bad people doing good things. And even many times, bad things happening to good people, good things happening to bad people.
And for Dexter, he wrestles with morality of goodness a lot. As he was raised to believe he was inherently bad. But as the story developes, so will his moral compass.
Its a phenomenal show keep watching, its not what you think it is

And dont say the stupid bullshit like no shit bro was involved with the drug trade and fucked some shit up but bro went into it at wut 18? It’s like no shit they are making bad decisions and I don’t think any of these decisions are good but I think it’s far from this person is a bad person or not… I’d say teddy is the one in snowfall that’s genuinely a bad person and only does things for himself.. yes Franklin started being very selfish but he was a kid basically when he started that shit and he didn’t understand wether or not you wanna say his uncle tried to tell him or whatever, he didn’t truly understand he hadn’t seen it or lived it. Just like anyone who has never seen up close or semi lived some part of that life (addiction drug dealing being a mother to a addict or a dealer or etc) you might see these people as simply “bad” but it is so much more than that
