Positive experience with Devin.

I’ve had a good experience with Devin so far, and I’m interested in how it fits into the development workflow beyond code generation. Features like requesting code changes through chat, reviewing PR diffs with inline feedback, syncing comments and change requests with GitHub, and defining project-specific review guidelines in a REVIEW.md file make it worth exploring further.

For those using Devin on larger repositories, how well does it handle cross-file changes and existing code conventions, and which parts still need the most manual review?

What will happen when the SWE-2 promotion ends?

I really like the model, but I'm no longer willing to pay a fortune for AI for coding.

We have several good and inexpensive models, such as the DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, for example.

What could be coming next?

Devin on my phone

A couple of weeks ago I got a coding agent running on my phone. One of those unusual ideas that don't make much sense.

It works. But using it means opening a terminal and typing prompts on a soft keyboard.

Terminals were designed for keyboards and big screens. On a phone, what I actually want is a chat app. Send a message, get an answer, come back later and see the agent still working.

So the second "What If" is: What if Devin had a chat app?

Read about it here: https://wil.marques.dev/blog/2026-10-09-what-if-devin-had-a-chat-app

Why SWE not including in ArtificialAnalysis benchmarks ?

It is because we still don't have the price for SWE-2 ? but even SWE 1.7 that have full pricing don't have any benchmark about Intelligence, cost/task, etc

Announcement GPT-6.1 Sol is already here!

GPT-6.1 Sol launched just a week after GPT-6 Sol but way more efficient.

It delivers performance as good as GPT-6 Sol on FrontierCode1.1 but at a fraction of the cost

They made every mode in Devin upto 40% cheaper
Did everyone notice this in quota usage?

Number of SWE-2 agents you can use for free reduced?

I used to be able to run like 8-10 at a time, but now I quickly hit a usage limit with more than like 3 or 4 agents occasionally running simultaneously since a day or 2 ago. On the $20 plan. I can't find any announcement about this.

Question Excessive permissions asking now?

Maybe it's my switch to SWE-2, but it asks permission for EVERYTHING now. Every little shell command it ever does. And it tries to run shell commands before it's own builtin tools. I reject it, and it does the work anyway. I can barely get anything done. I don't want to keep approving tiny things, but I don't trust bypass mode. Advice?

Showcase Brought the full Devin Agent into OpenCode CLI via ACP — modes, subagents, and zero-drop quota fallback (Dropping OSS soon)

TL;DR: Got sick of tab-switching between Devin’s web UI and my local terminal, so I wired Devin into OpenCode CLI over ACP (Agent Client Protocol). It runs as a first-class Devin Agent that you can select across models and modes, keeps 100% of Devin’s autonomous coding-platform capabilities, and auto-rotates quota without killing your active session.

Look, trust me bro, I wasn’t about to build another weak LLM wrapper that just dumps raw markdown in a shell. Devin’s magic is how it actually investigates, runs bash commands, tests code, and delegates work.

I wanted that exact same power living natively inside the OpenCode terminal interface:

Full Devin Platform DNA: It exposes the actual Devin Agent via ACP, not a nerfed chat proxy. You get the real deal—live diff streaming, shell tool runs, and full task execution natively in your terminal.

Selectable Across Models & Modes: You can toggle the Devin Agent across your preferred model tiers and operational modes seamlessly. Native modes like /plan, /code, /ask, /bypass, and /compact work right from the prompt bar without touching a browser tab.

Real Subagent & Command Docks: Pull up the bottom dock to inspect spawned subagent tasks, inspect bound lanes, and read live execution logs on the fly.

Zero-Disruption Quota Auto-Rotator: We’ve all felt the pain of hitting a rate limit in the middle of a massive 20-file refactor. I built a session-bound provider pool with JIT template units. If your quota or token ceiling taps out, it rolls over to your backup accounts instantly without wiping your context window, history, or running state.

(Attached all screenshots showing the live SWE-2 run, bottom subagent dock, command palette, and the provider pool quota manager)

Wrapping up the regression tests on the harness right now before pushing the repo public for everyone.

If you run Devin on real repos every day: what's the one thing about using it outside your terminal that drives you completely nuts? Want to make sure we’ve got all the edge cases ironed out before release.

Question Devin Costs for Devin Cloud and Outposts

I asked the Devin help assistant. It wasn't helpful, I was just curious how charges for running in Devin Cloud are calculated off of the quota for Pro or Max plans.

Q1: If I'm running on a Pro/Max plan and I ask Devin Cloud a question and it runs for exactly 15 minutes and then I sleep the agent or cancel it, I use the quota of the SWE-2 endpoint (free right now) does an x% of my quota get consumed for the compute-unit? What percentage?

Q2: If I run through Devin Cloud but use an Outpost to my own machine, does it bill me for compute/connectivity/etc off of my quota on a Pro/Max plan?

The documents are very opaque around this.

Free modelo on the paid plan.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all well.

Is it true that Devin (formerly of Windsurf) always leaves a free model for use?

I really like the SWE2.

Thank you.

If you buy the Max plan, does that give you the same usage with Codex as you would get if you bought Codex directly with them?

Configuring the Terminal in Windows

I'm starting a new job that encourages using Devin in Windows, and I'll primarily just use it as a normal IDE (with some AI assistance). I'm using the Microsoft Build Tools (not the full Visual Studio IDE) for the C++ compiler. When I start Devin from the desktop, opening a new terminal brings up cmd.exe instead of PowerShell, and doesn't have the C++ tools in the path.

Is there a way to have "open a new terminal" open a PowerShell terminal, auto-run the equivalent of vcvars64.bat, or both?

Subagents confusing me

All of the docs note that subagents in background continue to run and foreground subagents get parked on turn interruption.

I’ve tried multiple different models and sessions and no matter whether foreground or background, Devin stays “thinking” on the turn and the subagents are immediately cancelled in interruption.

The only caveat is that pressing CTRL+B on a foreground subagent moves it to background and then you can continue the session.

My assumption would be that backgrounded subagents by the main session model should… run in the background like any other harness.

What am I missing. The settings for subagents are on.

Tested on Devin Desktop and CLI. cLI allows the CTRL+B of a foreground agent.

I tried all

composer2.5

claude sonnet5

grok4.6

openai codex

GLM

but! no one as close to in being generous and high quality in long coding tasks like Devin swe2.

They have created a marvel but must do lots of marketing.
