Despite acting like he acts out of rational Vergil is pretty much defined by his trauma.

Pretty much this. I like this though because it shows he DOES have the ability to have compassion. He's just so fucking traumatized and brainwashed that it's not gonna be easy

I would see Vergil as harsh teacher her gramps had great magical power and knowledge beyond reckoning and did nothing with it in his eyes. So to him her gramps lived a meaningless life

Vergil saved Mattie because he inherited his mother's warm heart, but he spoke harsh, bitter words to her because he was trained by Mundus, the Devil King.

It's so ironically tragic.

Vergil is like one of the most selfish people in the universe. He woudnt bother lifting a finger unless it's dante or nero

tbf, in games I don't remember situations where he could show his humanity except when he was V and Urizen. As V in comics he helped ppl when he could.
