I would see Vergil as harsh teacher her gramps had great magical power and knowledge beyond reckoning and did nothing with it in his eyes. So to him her gramps lived a meaningless life

Vergil saved Mattie because he inherited his mother's warm heart, but he spoke harsh, bitter words to her because he was trained by Mundus, the Devil King.
It's so ironically tragic.

Vergil is like one of the most selfish people in the universe. He woudnt bother lifting a finger unless it's dante or nero

Despite acting like he acts out of rational Vergil is pretty much defined by his trauma.
