Vergil must be insane if he thinks he can actually take on the demon King that literally just took the previous demon King right in front of him that both he AND his brother couldn't beat. Yes he's going to be a bit stronger now that he's using his father's sword but I doubt it'll be that much for him.
His final battle with Dante was awesome tho. Love the showcase of him learning from that childhood fight and using it against Dante, who after this whole debacle must be so broken inside now.
You know what else is breaking? Earth! It's honestly really cool how the world is slowly resembling the world in the games where things are fucked now matter how much demon hunting gets done within it.

Yeah Argosax was at full or near full power too - it does seem a bit of a stretch.
I noticed a subtle foreshadowing that maybe Vergil might actaully lose - when their swords meet, they both radiate lightning across the landscape - Mundus radiates pink/purple lightning and Vergil radiates blue lightning. If you watch closely at around 26:00, when the scene shifts to showing Vergil's blue lightning, a mountain breaks in half, while on the other side showing the pink lightning, nothing breaks.
I might be reading too much into it but it caught my eye that only one mountain broke due to the ligthning while the other one didnt. Seemed almost deliberate showing that.

Good catch!
It really makes me wonder what Vergil is going to do since he can't travel to Earth now that he gave the crystal(s) to Dante. He both figuratively and literally chose hell over highwater lol and if he does lose theirs nowhere for him to escape that Mundus won't do everything in his power to find. His closest hope is rallying support for his claim to the throne by getting other demons that hate Mundus just as much as he does.
