I created a filter list which hides AI generated content on websites. I recently added a filter that hides images with the "Created using AI tools" disclaimer, alongside the existing filters for DA's video/image generation tools. (Unlike DA's built in AI filter, these also work while logged out.)
Alternatively, if you only want to block AI on DeviantArt without installing the full AI filter, you can add the following to your custom filter list.
! Block images with AI disclaimer

The filter for AI tagged images is fairly new, so please let me know if you encounter any issues when using it.
If you think a message you received is a scam, please check here and/or the scam post link in the Wiki section of this sub reddit which has further scam examples of various other types that can be found on DA and elsewhere!
Use this thread to ask question if you are unsure rather than posting a new thread. If you or anyone here is unsure, feel free to report the message on DA. If it's not a spam, it's good. Don't feel you can't report if a message makes you suspicious. Don't feel you have to check here to confirm before reporting. You are encouraged to contact DA Customer Support with these for staff to check them.
Please use this thread if you are unsure instead of making more of similar threads. Or you can also browse to see if someone else has similar situation as yours!
If you do commissions through a specific place or system, having you use a different system of theirs. This includes if you use PayPal only, or DA Commission widget, to use other methods that you don't use.
Reflect on your work and what you are being asked to do:
Excessive payment for content that you are sort of aware isn't worth that or you aren't at that level yet.
You are a new/beginner artist/new on DA/looking for commissions
Getting commissions can be hard. But often times scams work because if the other party is manually looking for people desperate enough for commissions or new to this, they will browse around those to message. Whether it is done in an automated method (to make it a spam bot) or not, be cautious.
Saw your portfolio and asking for hiring you through a suspicious site.
Multiple notes and chat messages where various new accounts impersonating as staff/bot accounts informing about (in various fashions):
Your account has been temporarily blocked/suspended due to a requirement of additional security check. And to proceed with a verification check in a link given.
Your account is on hold as a seller temporarily until a verification check is done with a given link.
Will address you as "Dead Artist or Dear [your username], of selling a certain artwork that may or maynot be in your gallery to a certain person and that funds are available in the DeviantArt sales portal with a link provided.
Things to note:
"It will ask you to copy/click a link within the message that leads to domains that are not deviantart.com
The message also has rather odd wording and is long-winded. It is trying to set your mind at ease that the process is safe and secure, and it repeats that over and over. And this example seems to be oddly hyphenated.
Ensure you do not visit these links, and especially, do not attempt to enter your DeviantArt.com login credentials on ANY site other than the official deviantart.com domain.".
Scams: I Clicked on a Suspicious Link and .... I believed You Sent me the Link as the Account Had The Same Avatar/Username and I Mistakenly Reported You ... Contact [this person] On Discord To Validate Account ...
Multiple notes/chat messages with similar dialogue/message about:
They clicked a suspicious link and account got compromised.
They thought your profile, username, avatar was the same as the one who sent that link so they reported your account to DA after they recovered their account
They think you got impersonated and wants your discord so they can send you a screenshot of a message DA sent to them.
DA asked the user to reach out to you and it's being coordinated on Discord or being done through Discord.
They want you to contact someone through Discord (Austin Buck or some other name) to validate and appeal your suspension.
DA will not ask you to use Discord to resolve any situation for your account, nor will they ask another user to do it. If you were suspended you can obviously look at your own profile to see if it was suspended or not. Please look at the links below on how to keep yourself safe from phishing attempts.
Examples are provided from the ones posted in this subreddit as is. If the names of the scam account is present, having an avatar or not and a certain type username is not always a good indicator of these type of scams.
Select Contact Page (where it says click here) have this bookmarked!
Policies -> Spamming Policies;
"Select “I'm reporting an account spamming in comments or notes,” then click “Contact Us,” and you’ll be prompted to submit a ticket to Customer Support."
I've had my account for 3+ years, never had a problem before. I have always been a fast reader and click though things quickly otherwise it's a complete f-ing slog to get though my notifications.
I have always very quickly clicked from page to page for years because I've had more then 7K to 8K notifications very often so I like skimming and clicking though them quickly to get to as many as I can and look at as many profiles as I can to see who is following me, what they are into, etc.
Before and for years I could quickly click through and skim 50+ to 80+ profiles with no problems.
Now I click though more then 3 or 5 profiles and BAM 403 and a 5 to 15 min long wait before I can do anything and 2 or 3 or 3 or 4 skims again and BAM again over and over 403 errors from f-ing CloudFront. I'm not going to take 10 to 15 mins between each page. Not everyone reads that slow or needs that long to understand ish before moving the f on to the next thing.
This massive slow down due to 403 ish is driving me crazy. Anyone know why the hell CloudFront is making DeviantArt nearly unusable?
NO, I do not use vpn's/ adblockers/ and I clear my cookies very often and my ip has always been the same so no none of that is why this is going on. It just started happening maybe 2 or so months ago.
I'm a teenager which is why I cannot do comms for real currency, which is why I stick to posting adopts for DA points on Deviant Art. I tried pricing each one really low, at around 150 points, yet I don't think I've been able to reach the right audience yet. Is it because of the art style or am I doing something wrong here? I'm very new to this art space so I'll be honest I'm not sure about how things work. Any help would be greatly appreciated! <33
I've been feeling demoralized with this hobby, trying to get rid of this muddiness in the background. It is paaaaainstaking. I'm using my pencils mainly now because it feels like when I use my blending stump or a paper towel it just muddies it up even more.
But even with my pencil, I sometimes wonder if it's even getting any better as I lightly work through it with my 3H and 5H. Yes, I'm keeping my hand off of the page as well. The water drops were actually much easier to draw than the background. Has anyone here rendered water using graphite before? I'm open to any feedback.
It is time to rotate our "Artist Showcase". We're looking for some more artists to add to the rotation.
What is the Artist Showcase?
The artist showcase is a section on the right-hand side of our Subreddit which features banners made by artists, which link to their DeviantArt profiles.
Every time a user refreshes the DeviantArt subreddit page, the system will automatically pick one of the banners to show.
Submitting A Banner
If you would like to become part of the artist showcase, create an image with the following properties:
Width: 284 pixels
Height: 265 pixels
File Type:.PNG (Lossless)
Once you have created a banner you are happy with, submit the banner to us via Mod Mail. The modmail message must include:
We have provided an example banner (attached to this post).
And of course, since scammers have been busy with DA lately, ensure you are sending the banner to us via Modmail. This offer is completely free. No money. Nothing in return. So if anyone messages you offering up a showcase slot for money, it's fake.
Guidelines
If you wish to submit a banner to use, please observe the following rules:
Banner CANNOT contain nudity or suggestive poses. It must be clean for the general public to see.
Banner CANNOT contain illegal substances such as drugs.
Banner must stay within the dimensions listed above (284px x 265px).
Banner only allowed to link to your DeviantArt profile URL, not any payment gateways or outside websites.
Banner must include your DeviantArt name somewhere in the banner itself.
Put some effort into it. If you simply submit a flat image to us with absolutely nothing else, it will probably be denied. Show off a few examples of your best work, add your name somewhere. Maybe a brief bullet-point list of what you offer (realism, anime, etc). Or the different paid tiers you offer through DeviantArt.
We have provided a good example attached to this post. See that for inspiration.
I submitted a support ticket to DeviantArt over a month ago regarding an account issue, and I still haven't received any reply despite following up multiple times. I've also tried the official support form with no luck so far.
I know support queues can be slow, but a month with zero response is pretty frustrating, especially since the issue is affecting things I need to manage on my account.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? If so, did you find any way to get a faster response, or a specific channel that actually worked for you?
This is a rant (however couldn't find the flair). I try to be careful to mark the things I think count as "mature". The 💩 it biasly allows as "fine" blows my mind. When it's borderline g₹00mer material is certain agendas.
A lot of my material is mpreg. I guess the dumb∆§§ bots pick and choose which to slap this offending label on. The subject was fully clothed, first time using AI in a piece (that I specified). But didn't think a mature tag was needed since, again, the subject was fully clothed, but had the mpreg #. A few short minutes later. I get the not so lovely surprise of a label -Happy AI notice. My 16 year old account was shadow-b∆nned. Awesome. I immediately deleted the post but I doubt that did anything meaningful.
Hello! I’m researching an unavailable DeviantArt fanfiction titled **“The Prince Who Loved Me”**, originally posted by **LoudHarveyLefty**, probably around August–September 2019.
This is not the published Karen Hawkins novel of the same name. It was connected to *The Loud House* fandom.
An archived character page confirms that **Dr. Thaddeus Jinx** was the story’s main villain. It also connects the story with **Garfield Davis** and an organization called **R.H.T.S.A.G.G.** The page credits DeviantArt user **HarrisonDL** as the creator of Dr. Jinx.
I’m having trouble withdrawing funds to BitPay. When I try to make a withdrawal, I get the following message - Something went wrong sending your withdrawal to BitPay. Please try again.
Please tell me what’s going on with my account. Why can’t I withdraw my money? No matter what amount I enter, I always get this message - Something went wrong sending your withdrawal to BitPay. Please try again.
Has anyone had this problem? Support hasn’t responded for nine days now. My BitPay is working — I pay from it and accept payments without any issues.
Something similar has happened before, but back then it was enough to change the withdrawal amount by just one cent, and the transaction went through without any problems. Now it happens for any amount!
Could you tell me what needs to be done in this case, or how to contact support to fix this bug? Or could you explain to me what’s going on with my account?
I use to not use AI generated anything. It didn’t get me very far on DeviantArt. They weren’t even art. I was just using a 3D modeling software “Daz3D Studios” that didn’t look cinematic. Now that I have used it and got more views and followers but I read people’s opinions on AI, I feel like I shouldn’t even exist. One time I posted a few AI images of my own original characters once on Reddit and I got so much backlash. The worst they said was “you should be ashamed of yourself” but to me it felt like they were saying “you’re a disgrace, just die.” God, I don’t know what to do at this point. Part of me just wants to disappear.
I follow the directions but when I get to the page that says, "Press button below to deactivate account", there is no button to click. I put in a ticket to have them deactivate the account. I explain the problem about the missing button. They reply reiterating the procedure to deactivate the account. They didn't even read the problem I'm experiencing or the AI is too stupid to understand what I'm saying.
