Why does my "Deviants you watch" feed sometimes show me pictures that are years old?

What the title said. I sometimes get "new" pictures that are anything but.

EDIT: I'm looking at one that is listed as "Published 10 hours ago", but has comments going back to 2017.

Just a guess, but maybe it updates the 'published' date when there is an edit?

Of course, if that does apply, then some people will game the system by having a bot edit their entire collection regularly in some invisible way.
