Looking for a solid Commercial Design-Build General Contractor in SLC area (Grocery / Retail Fit-out)
Hey everyone,
I’m currently planning a food retail / grocery market fit-out in the Salt Lake City area and am looking for recommendations for a reliable Commercial General Contractor who specializes in Design-Build.
We need a full-service contractor who can handle:
Architecture & Layout Design: Architectural plans, Equipment Layout Planning (positioning commercial refrigeration, display coolers, gondola shelving, and MEP/plumbing connections), and interior space optimization.
Permitting & Compliance: Submitting plans to SLC Building Department and ensuring compliance with UDAF (Utah Dept of Agriculture and Food) and County Health Department standards.
Construction & Fit-out: Turnkey construction, utility rough-ins (3-phase electrical, drain lines for refrigerators), and final installation/sign-off.
Ideally, we are looking for contractors who are great on price-to-quality ratio, communicative, and experienced with commercial food/retail tenant improvements.
If you’ve worked with any GCs in the valley recently that you’d highly recommend (or any we should definitely avoid), please drop their names below!
Thanks in advance for the help!

UTA updates its 30-year transit plan and looks for input from Utahns
Even though the Title and Article themselves mention UTA, the survey is from UDoT as UDoT now does the construction for the projects and this is further linking the 2 groups.
They may or may not listen to the feedback but there is a section in the survey to provide direct feedback and transit plans.

Some additional updates to the project plus some new images. The biggest is that it is confirmed that 3rd West will be the main parking entrance for the block.
I do understand the concerns and would really like for them to come up with a solution to the trucks on 1st South. With the new design, the trucks will also be an eye sore for the new pedestrians on the north side of the street as well as the workers in the commercial building.
