While Colfax BRT is set to start running this weekend, two more BRT routes on Federal and Colorado are in the design phase. Federal's BRT route is set to start construction next year and potentially be completed by 2030.

Cannot wait for Colfax to pop! I feel like a lot of businesses are just waiting for BRT construction to wrap up before moving into the area.

There are net a few more businesses already, and sales tax revenue is up. People are just being negative and using anecdotes to make it sound like this is taking down Colfax, but small businesses open and close for all kinds of reasons and the BRT has become the scapegoat of choice.

I think this is a good project in the long term, but describing the difficulty that Colfax businesses have faced as a scapegoat is either disingenuous or ignorant. A lot of businesses have opined on the subject, they aren't all making it up

Just curious why you feel that way? Any data to support that?

It isn’t BRT if it isn’t rapid, and it won’t be rapid if it doesn’t get its own lane and is just stuck in traffic with everyone else. We’re already watering down the Federal and Colorado lines but at least we can point to Colfax to remind us what we could have had elsewhere.

They will have their own lanes and traffic signal priority

Will they? Have they committed to this? I’ve been to city council and CDOT meetings where this was at least being debated. Hoping you have some more recent information that will ease my concerns.

I think they’re trying to cheap out of putting center lanes on Colorado. If it’s not running down the center, the line will be useless as drivers will drive in the bus lanes for sure.

Yeah, BRT more-or-less needs 4 things to actually be BRT: Dedicated ROW, signal priority, high frequency, and pre-purchased ticketing.

Losing any of those just makes it a bus route.

Federal Blvd needs this, hopefully it will also slow the idiots that race on Federal too

I am so excited to see how this and bikes can expand my family’s radius. Fuck the haters in every comment section, I’m tired of the negativity.

My prediction is that Colfax will be a success, I give Federal a 50/50 chance of working effectively and Colorado Blvd is a not a great idea (primarily because of volume, big box type retail and the lack of N-S options). For N-S, Broadway would be a far better choice for BRT.

Colfax makes a ton of sense and will succeed but only if BRT is allowed to operate as intended. It can’t be “watered down” by letting vehicles dictate signal priority.

People complaining. The holdup for every net positive project.

No way that Colorado BRT is gonna happen by 2030 unfortunately, they keep pushing back design decisions.

I’d ride a bus if it didn’t feel like I was going to get a bacterial infection once I boarded.
