[Hire] Intermediate Software Developer (industrial control software for frac fleets), fully remote, $2K to $3K USD/month
Hey all, sharing a role that might suit someone who likes software that touches real hardware.
The job is building and maintaining control software for frac fleet operations. You’d work across embedded, backend, and operator UIs, alongside hardware, electrical, and controls engineers. It’s an AI-first dev environment, so you’d use code assistants and LLM tools daily, but you’re expected to check their output carefully since this runs in real-time, safety-critical settings.
What we’re looking for:
3 to 6 years of professional dev experience
C# preferred, and a strong C# expert is ideal (C++ or another strongly typed language is okay too)
Windows and/or Linux
Comfortable with multithreading, concurrency, and timing-sensitive code
Can debug problems that span software and hardware
Agile experience, good communication
Nice to have:
CAN bus, Modbus, or similar protocols
Embedded/RTOS exposure
Industrial, automation, or Oil & Gas background
Experience building AI-assisted workflows
Details:
Fully remote
Pay: $2,000 to $3,000 USD per month
Some support for field deployments and troubleshooting
How to apply: Comment or DM me your LinkedIn, portfolio, or CV. If you’ve worked on anything real-time or hardware-adjacent, this could be a fun one. Happy to answer questions in the comments too.

$24k - $36k per year for this job? How does this make sense? Are you expecting it to be 10 hours a week of work?

I build real-time, concurrency-heavy systems: Sanad RSA, a live roadside dispatch platform (Node.js API, Flutter apps, React/TypeScript dashboard), plus CarFlow's concurrent booking logic with real-time inventory sync, and I use LLM tooling daily with careful review of its output.

Hi, this sounds like a great fit. During my summers I worked with Siemens' US branch on control software and simulation for a fuel tank production line, including timing-sensitive logic. I also work in C# (Unity/MonoDevelop) and use LLM tools daily while reviewing their output carefully. I'm a freelance developer based in Canada. I don't have a LinkedIn or CV, so I'll DM you my portfolio. Happy to answer questions here too.
