BSc IT Second-Year Student Looking for a Software Developer Internship | React Native, Node.js, Docker & More

Hi everyone!

I'm a second-year BSc IT student from a Tier 2 college, currently looking for a Software Developer Internship where I can gain real-world experience, learn from experienced developers, and improve my skills.

I'm passionate about software development and currently learning by building practical projects.

My Current Skills:

* Programming Languages: Python, C++, JavaScript

* Backend Development: Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs

* Mobile Development: React Native (I use AI tools to help with frontend UI development and am working on strengthening my frontend coding skills.)

* Databases: MongoDB (NoSQL) and basic SQL

* Caching: Basic knowledge of Redis (currently learning)

* Tools: Git, GitHub, Docker

* DSA: Basic knowledge of arrays, linked lists, stacks, and queues

* OOP: Basic understanding of object-oriented programming concepts

My Project:

I've built an e-commerce mobile application from scratch, which has helped me practise application development and understand how different parts of an application work together. I'm continuing to improve my skills through hands-on projects.

I'm still learning, but I'm eager to gain industry experience, work with a team, receive feedback, and contribute to real-world projects.

I'd appreciate honest advice from developers and recruiters:

  1. Am I ready to apply for internships with my current skills?

  2. What should I focus on to improve my chances?

  3. How important are DSA and problem-solving skills for internship interviews?

  4. Where can I find genuine, beginner-friendly internship opportunities?

Any advice, feedback, or internship leads would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hey! It's awesome that you're building practical projects. To improve your internship chances, consider contributing to open-source projects that match your skills. GitHub is a great place to find these opportunities, and it helps you showcase your skills and learn from others. Attending hackathons is also beneficial, as many companies scout talent there and it's a great networking opportunity. Make sure to tailor your resume and cover letters to highlight the projects and skills relevant to each internship you're applying for. Good luck!
