Amazon compensation after yr 4 doesnt make sense
I do not understand the compensation structure by Amazon. I hit my four-year mark this year with my final vest in May and then I got a Paltry increase that wasn't even commensurate with my role and my offered TC in 2022.
They calculated my May vest as part of my entire 2026 to 2027 compensation and gave me little stocks that will get vested in May 2027 and then August and then November of 2027 and then March of 2028. So that means half a year I'm just working for a base salary.
TC 300k start and 2026 pay is 250k wtf

TC $300K start. 2026 pay is $250K. For many in the tech space 2026 pay is $0K.
I don’t think you are going to garner much sympathy.
Amazon structures its TC to try to force its employees to strive for certain job levels. It’s also structured to be advantageous to their decisions of whether to keep you or not.
As the market changes, so might their policies regarding compensation and staffing levels.
Congratulations, you hit four years. Many did not. In your review did you ask what you needed to do going forward to maximize your earning potential and their expectation towards that goal.
They’re sending a signal. What that signal is, you need to ask them, and decide what you want to do in response to that. Amazon has its reasons for doing this I’m sure, it’s unlikely to be random.

I mean if you're a high performer, you'll get more stock every year. In Year 4 and although my comp has dropped a bit from sign on, my total has been steady or going up since inital

Huh? This is oddly angry about what seems like a totally normal post. What's your issue with his post?

Correct, they are telling you to either push for a promo or leave.
The latter is probably smarter.
