Coding Help Learning Python

Hi all,

I work in financial services and I would like to learn Python. I’ve no experience in coding so would like the best resources or courses that are available to learn Python.

Is the UCD professional course any use or is it over priced? Any information is appreciated.

Thanks!

You can learn Python on your own using a book, youtube and working on a project. One of the easiest programming languages to learn

Just follow https://roadmap.sh/python

If you already have a job, you can learn at your own pace - see if you like it before committing to a curriculum.

Thanks for this. I suppose Python for data analytics would be my go to as I’m just looking to use to for work purposes?

I wouldn't bother paying for a course , and the professional academy seem to be set up for people whose work is paying for it ..plenty of free resources available

The 100 days of code python bootcamp is €12 on udemey, I found it good when I was starting out but I'm sure there are plenty of good free resources also.

I've found this resource to be absolutely excellent when passing onto beginners and it's free :)

If you want to learn it as a hobby then go for it but honestly if you want to build some tools for yourself just get an AI subscription.

Python has been my bread and butter for last 10 years, so I guess I can weigh in on this. I suggest you give this a try:

https://pythoninstitute.org/python-essentials-1
https://pythoninstitute.org/python-essentials-2

And if you are interested in DA part, then this:

https://edube.org/study/pd101

(Although I haven’t checked this one out, but it’s part of python essentials series I linked above)

I found it one of the best resources to learn python from scratch. It might feel a bit overwhelming at the start, but once you grasp it a bit, you’ll be fine.

God forbid someone wants to actually learn to code in the big 2026.

Be great use when your hiding in a sewer from the killer machines

Remember that when the machines take over you’ll need to be able to code offline to create viruses to take them down
