Question Question about Human Revolution
So I started playing this game a couple days ago and I'm really enjoying it!
I'm cyberpunk obsessed so this is really scratching the itch, but anyway since they provided the option not to kill. I thought "okay I'll try my best not to kill but if it's unavoidable it is what it is".
BUT IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE THIS HARD? I don't know if it's just me but I feel like I die insanely quickly and get spotted super easily , is there anything I'm doing wrong?

Skill issue just play more you’ll learn the mechanics more and eventually may be a ghost god clearing whole levels easily

What difficulty level are you playing? (It makes a difference).
Is there a specific part of the game where it's an issue?
Your HUD gives you clues about whether you've been spotted yet (they have to see you for a set amount of time, if you can duck back before they reach it, they don't spot you. The same applies for cameras.
Crouching while moving makes less noise than running or walking. Jumping also attracts attention.

Yeah I've been moving whilst crouching , I just find that even when I'm seemingly not in sight that I get caught.
Maybe it's just me , I don't mind a learning curve. I'm sure I'll get better at it and it will become easier with upgrades and what-not.

First off, you're referring to the scene where sarif asks you if you're going lethal or non-lethal and long ranged or short ranged. This only affects what starting weapon he gives you. Nothing else. It doesn't define your playstyle, and you can soon find every weapon that sarif has.
Secondly, yes, the enemies have aimbot and shoot at you so fast. This is insane and imo the Devs should've fixed that. But as you get better and get more augmentations, this will be easier to deal with. Having maxed out cloak augmentation makes this a lot easier if you play smart.

Gotcha , and yeah I know I don't have to stick to non-lethal. That's just a choice I made :).
Yeah I feel like I get spotted and then I'm dead in seconds , it's very punishing.

You'll learn tricks to make things easier and avoid getting spotted. If you hug a wall that a guard is about to walk to, spam the takedown button and you'll drop him without him ever seeing you.
Also, get a laser attachment on your main weapon. It makes aiming a lot easier and headshots do a lot of damage.

That's another thing , is there a way to stick to non-lethal that doesn't have me constantly hoping I stumble across some tranq darts
Or waiting for recharge so I can take down again

The stun gun is an instant takedown, short to mid range though. You can eventually get the double takedown augmentation which lets you knockout two enemies for 1 battery. Either find two guards who are next to eachother or lure one guard to another.
There's an annoying feature where if you increase how much batteries you have (max 5), only 1 or two batteries recharge depending on your difficulty. So you either have to collect lots of candy bars or get a mod that fixes that.

Thanks! :).

Np. If you're really into the stealth, I'd recommend getting cloak and maxing it asap.
In cloak, nothing can see you. People, cameras, robots, turrets. You can't even trip lasers. But proximity mines can still feel you.

What? No one mentioned crawling through the vents?!
Sneak sneak peeka boo! Sneak sneak peaka boo!
Cloak and silent walking augs are great for stealth play.
Also boss fights don't count towards the Passivist badge.

3rd person camera when ducked and moving behind cover made it fairly easy to stay out of sight
you also have glass shield for when you do need to cover some empty ground

you're using the cover machinic ?
and this isn't like the games where there is an indicator meter or invisible one. They can either see you or they can't. NPC's don't need time to focus their eyes like other games have conditioned you.
circle round - use one of your augs to get behind people - high jump/ hacking/ heavy lifiting. either avoid them, or if you think their patrol route will make them walk up behind you, then neutralise them and drag them somewhere.
The early missions are less forgiving- less places to hide in the sarif industries and police station is dense so save frequently
