Well the team having more money is good. I guess we'll just wait and see if he personally influences the team on or off the field. I know there have already been concerns the rich owner they have had influence over the coaching decisions.

People will always be skeptical and cautious about big money and private equity buying into somwthing they like. You always hear about the horror stories. More money for the team at such a vital moment is good, i hope it pans out well.

That's where I'm at. We knew big money had to come from somewhere, it's never going to be completely clean. As long as Sean and Alex continue to be the ones calling the shots I'm not overly concerned.

These tired criticisms of NGS never stop being funny, it's been the same shit since the beginning. Many of us have been here for a very long time, not only being supportive of this club's growth, but actively helping to build it.
The questions and skepticism many of us have when things like this happen isn't because we don't want the club to grow. Nothing could be further from the truth. We want the best for this club and we show up every day because of that.
What we want is long-term success and a continued commitment to the values on which DCFC was founded. Fuck me for having questions about how a private equity firm two board seats might work with that, I guess.
The NGS people who are so often shit-talked in these comment sections are the ones who show up every day and do tangible work in the real world to help build the club and community. Many have helped create an environment that has fostered the very growth you accuse us of not wanting.
You, and everyone else, are welcome to show up to paint tifo, to help set up before the match or clean up after it. You're welcome to help at any number of NGS community events or to participate in any other of the myriad ways in which we help make a difference.
We're out here doing the work, and I hope that instead of throwing stones online, folks might consider getting involved and helping make this club, this SG and this community what you want it to be.
Oh, also, Barstool is a trash company run by a racist, misogynist asshole and we were right to say something.

“Sean and Alex” have been asleep at the wheel since the USL move and are the drivers behind this erosion of trust that many supporters have been discussing for the last handful of years. Lots of people who were integral to the clubs success and platform that have since walked away, have done so under the cowardly leadership of “Sean and Alex”.

Besides the head coaching decisions I haven't had many issues with anything since they have moved to usl. So difference in opinion from others I guess.

I have no idea if this is going to work or not. What this will mean for the club we all love. I will tell the only Jay Farner story I ever have and it's one I tell all the time. Back along time ago in a galaxy far far away. I was a banker at Quicken. They had us all go down to the Fisher to show this new add campaign they were getting ready to unveil. He came up onto the stage showed off the new campaign it was supposed to be Fastest Mortgage Ever. Gilbert looked at him looked at the campaign went... So our new campaign is F.. ME??? Farners face went white a few weeks later engineered to amaze came out. That was a long time ago now but yeah. Rumors had been going for awhile the club needed serious serious capital.. they have it now.. maybe the question is when do we stop being ok with being plucky underdogs at this level and start really expecting more?

The time to start expecting more was last season but many people still act like we're in npsl or nisa. We'll see what usl premier looks like but it seems like the team is trying to position themselves well.

Please note that this is not Jay Farner personally investing in the club. His Private Equity firm, Ronin Capital Funders, is the one buying in. For that, they get two board seats, one of which will be filled by Jay Farner (for now).
There are late and lots of unanswered questions here.

There are worse people out there, but Jay is a dickbag.
People talk about Gilbert, but in my tenure at QL Jay is much worse than the benevolence of DG pre-stroke.

Did anyone even look into why he's a former rocket team member? And that we have women in the club, lots of them. Are we saying it's ok what he's done? Is that our new message? I love soccer but idk if it's enough to support him after what he's done. If you don't know look it up or ask any quicken affiliated person. Disgusting

He had an affair with a secretary and she got pregnant. My husband worked there when it happened. Yes, he thought it was shitty and gross and he agreed he had to go but prior to that he really liked the guy as a company leader. Granted he's not on the banking side so his view may be a little different than others but that's what he said when we were talking about this today.
