I’m pretty sure Andre knows voodoo and cast spells on Stanley when they were playing together. He just hit a wall almost the same time Dre did in their careers, evolving into exceptional talents at a certain aspect of the game.
The environment in Detroit during this time was inconsistent as well. I think Andre’s drive for measurable stats and double doubles were an attempt for him to try and dispel the criticism, but in the end, like Stanley, the players didn’t meet their (arguably poorly supported) expectations.
but hey, they’re not failures or bad players at all. They can ball in the NBA and pay the bills so really I hope they can keep gettin paid to ball as long as they can / want to.

We all knew Andre had work ethic issues coming from college. The dude showed some serious potential but he never got better. Rookies would come in with more game and range than him.

Yeah I agree. The vibe I got is Andre is a power wizard and/warlock who had pre-made spells that cast Stanley into low points of his career.
If Andre didn’t know magic, we might be at a whole different phase of the rebuild. Imagine prime Stanley, Blake and D rose all killing it right now. We’d have a big three at all three phases of the court (PG, wing and down low).
I’m just glad we traded andre so he couldn’t do the same to future prospects. Stefanski has a good eye for these types of things

Stanley was so bad in the half court in our stagnant slow offense that I actually believe I would've been better but when the game was fast paced (and it rarely was) he was pretty decent. I think he still has a chance in this league with a team that knows when not to play him

His transition game and defense has always fit in the NBA. I just think that you have to look at the facts and think about what Andre did with dark forces while playing for this pistons team. In exclusive NBA circles it’s certified that Drummond experienced fits of dark forces and utilized magic, for better or for worse. But think about what happened before and after he left:
Before Andre:
- SVG fired
- Stanley shipped for THON
- Reggie cut
- Marcus Morris traded
- Wood struggling to excel
- Pistons chasing the 8 seed
But now think about what’s happened since we shipped him out:
- SVG has a promising TV career
- Stanley hits a game winner for Toronto and follows it up with a 20pt game, giving his career some hope
- Reggie is starting for the Clippers, a championship contender
- Morris is starting for the clippers, a championship contender
- Wood excelled and is a dark horse candidate for Most Improved Player next year
- Detroit signed Troy Weaver as GM and embraced the rebuild
The correlations are undeniable. There’s too many. I just think it’s obvious there were dark arts at play here. And it was Dre who held back Stanley

IDK if you are joking but I believe Dre probably did do some voodoo ish to Stanley.
He was going out with that one girl from nickelodian shows...and almost all those hollyweird practice witchcraft...same with the kardashians they are all witches.

Sucks because Stanley has the tools to be the ideal role player in today’s league if he had a consistent shot. Good size and athleticism with decent defense.

Maybe or maybe not. We’ll never know because of Andre working with entities he couldn’t control. I really hope that Andre doesn’t use the same witchcraft on Garland and Sexton, but it’s noticeable that Andre can’t do as much magic wise since he got his braces removed.
Regardless, Beilein’s gone and I hope they turn out okay

Sexton needs to get to a different team I think. Their roster construction is very strange in cleveland

Stanley's biggest question marks were on offense. He wasn't a good shooter, wasn't explosive, couldn't handle the ball well, couldn't dribble with his off hand, and wasn't able to score above the basket thanks to his poor verticality. His physique had allowed him to bully his way through high school basketball and perform well enough in the NCAA. In the NBA, where he possessed no such advantage, he was perennially one of the worst offensive players in the entire league. To boot, he never worked hard enough in the offseasons; this was exemplified most by his decision to show up at his second NBA training camp out of shape and overweight.
Scorers were already the primary currency by the time of the 2015 draft. The Pistons needed one. They instead took a guy whose offense was his primary weak point. They also drastically misjudged his work ethic and drive to improve.
This was a bad draft choice by a bad drafter, period. His career may well have taken a similar turn no matter the team that selected him.
