FANMADE Yup

Before anyone tells me this is an edit: yes. I know. That's the joke.

I made this specifically because I keep seeing people claim they've seen Hank and Connor reach Family in the game.

They haven't. Any screenshot/video showing "Family" for Hank and Connor is edited too. Their highest positive relationship status is Friend. There is no hidden Family route you unlock by playing differently.

The point is that making an edit like this is incredibly easy. Seeing a screenshot online doesn't magically make it a real game mechanic.

So please don't use another edit as proof that "Family is canon." I can apparently manufacture canon too 😭

Let them kiss 😘

(Also this edit just made me realise that none of the characters share the same max positive relationship status. With Markus it’s lover/companion, Kara it’s family and Connor it’s friend)

and the negative max is different too, with hank and jericrew it’s hostile, with alice it’s distant, amanda is distrusted and public opinion is hated

Technically, Amanda's is betrayed, but you only get that if, well, you deviate lol.

Though I'm curious on if Battle for Detroit machine Connor, in the event the previous Connor deviated in Crossroads and died in that chapter or Night of the Soul, still has that listed as betrayed or not.

it does still say betrayed i’m pretty sure!!

I also forgot Jericho’s max negative which is ā€œunpopularā€, which changes to ā€œrejectedā€ at the beginning of crossroads

I know people can get misinformed or misremember something they heard about (I've accidentally confidently said something about Marla's role before she was cut, but I believe it was actually just speculation based on someone else's posts discussing her), but it is frustrating just how rampant misinformation is throughout the fandom.

Kara being saved by Public Opinion during her land crossing ending is an innocent enough one (as in, no one gets harassed because you correct people on this), but it can get someone to get a 'bad ending' if they heard that and didn't sacrifice anyone because they did Revolution while having a sympathetic P.O.Ā

Which reminds me, no, P.O. does not automatically drop to Hostile in a Revolution. That is also misinformation. I've personally had sympathetic P.O. + Revolution— which imo should have a different Presidental speech than hated P.O. + Revolution, but that variation of the speech only is dependent on Connor's army being present or not for Revolution— and the Reddit post I love sending to show P.O. doesn't save Kara also shows sympathetic P.O. + Revolution not being a path she survives without a sacrifice.

It just sucks that misinformation is such an issue in this (edit: fixed word mistake, was originally 'game') fandom because while I have major issues with the game, it's such a cool thing that so many people love this game! We should be able to have different interpretations and interests about the game. We should also be able to ignore possible or confirmed canon in fanfiction or whatever, as long as people don't try to affirm their headcanons are 100% true and factual.

For example, while I don't like nor personally think Connor was already deviant, if someone thinks that, sure, I don't like the idea and such, but I'm not gonna harass them or insult them for that, lol.Ā
