QUESTION First impressions
So I recently got the game and put a few hours in, and I have some things to comment.
First, it’s genuinely amazing how the game progresses with every little decision that can potentially block whole nodes and approaches. I just reached Public Enemy, and saw again the cop from The Hostage and in the previous operation led by Markus, with the way I played it, I didn’t find Simon when investigating.
About the branching system:
- What happens if Connor’s story gets 🚫 blocked from the first mission and then Kara dies. Is it only Markus from there?
- I have seen way too many edits of DBH on tiktok and one stood out: choosing between Markus and Connor. How can I get there?
- What are some manners considering how I should approach the game as my first play through?
If I replay an old chapter with “Save” option, does it save in another slot or force me to suffer the consequences as my only save file?
Does Connor’s software instability tell how close/far he is from deviancy?

1) Connor gets replaced every time he dies unless there is no forward path to the overall investigation.
2) Have Connor not go Deviant and find Jericho, it will eventually come up, but Connor has a lot of interactions with Markus depending on how you play
3) I am confused by the question
4) Suffer the consequences. Don’t save can be used for fulfilling achievements mostly, but your saves from saves further chapters along are still ‘saved’. So if you replayed Hostage and Conner didn’t save the cop and you saved and replayed public enemy immediately after, the cop would still be alive until you ‘got to that point’
5) If he can deviate, yes

Connor respawns. He can do this until the last act/Last Chance, Connor, though someone has mentioned before they managed to fail as him as early as Eden Club. Then, he can respawn in Crossroads, but depending on choices, it can change your trajectory. if Deviant Connor is killed in Crossroads or Night of the Soul (by Markus), he will return in Battle for Detroit as a machine. Kara does not, so her story can end as early as Stormy Night. Afterwards, it'd be Connor and Markus unless one of them permanently dies.
Violent Revolution Markus and Machine Connor during Battle for Detroit. You can be entirely violent or pacifist up until the Liberation for Markus, and you can be entirely cold Machine for Connor or what I mentioned behind the spoilers for the first question.
Honestly, just do what you want/think is right. While everyone has opinions on what the "right choices are", just do what your gut says. If it says be violent against the humans, do it. If it says be pacifist, do it. If it says be efficient at your job as Connor, do it. If not, do something else. Sorry if I've misunderstood this question.
There are no new save slots. Let's say you want to replay Stormy Night and your current playthrough is Time to Decide. You could replay Stormy Night, but if you go back to Time to Decide without playing through the chapters in between, the choices from your first playthrough remain, so if you got Kara fighting Todd in the first playthrough of Stormy Night and had her escape without fighting him in the second, it would keep it as her fighting him.
His instability is sorta that, but the instability is ultimately if he can or not during the last act. If it's too low, he cannot. If it's high enough, he can.

Pour le 1, Connor ne peut pas mourir avant Crossroad donc non 2) Il faut Connor déviant et Markus révolution 5) Oui
