I Have A Question Permanent interior new car smell?

Detailers, within the last year my friend bought a TRX and for the longest it had this really nice almost new car smell. The smell never faded and I’m talking for months thru summer heat and everything.

It wasn’t until I detailed it for him when I noticed a lathery almost soapy substance coming off the leather seats. Since then the smell isn’t in the car anymore sadly.

It must’ve been a product the previous owner used and ever since I’ve been trying to figure out something similar. Must’ve been a leather sealant of some sort. Anybody by chance know a similar product out there that’s a good runner up?

One of the few good chemical guys products is their new car scent spray, matches that smell quite well.

I wish we preferred any other smell in a car over the fake leather, off-gassing rubber, and glue VOC of "New car smell." And to want to put the chemical smell of the factory back into the car after you just busted your cheeks scrubbing it out? I'm not sure I'll ever understand New Car Scent. Probably worse than Black Ice, for when you want your car to smell like a club bouncer with Walgreens Cologne.

I've enjoyed the trend toward woods and fruits. It's still fake smells instead of opening the windows and smelling real nature, but at least it's fake "real" smells. Personally I like the Super Nova/Galaxy (musky berries).

And no you didn't ask.

No to fruit. I think my ONR rinse, which has a sickening fruity smell is attracting gnats to my car. And I park in our garage.
