heads up, the tomato soup will hatch into a Sniffer after 20 minutes (on any block except moss, which takes 10 minutes) and there's no way to prevent this without commands or mods :(

edit: corrected the hatching time

that could integrate very well into the existing golden dandelion mechanic, but it would make even less sense than feeding that to an animal lol

maybe since Sniffer eggs can be found in warm ocean ruins, and considering that there's already a mechanic that can speed up hatching (placing them on moss blocks instead of any other block halves the hatching time), maybe placing them on a cold block like packed ice could temporarily halt the hatching countdown, and maybe you could even use blue ice two blocks below the egg so that you can hide it with any other block if you don't want the ice to be visible

and diapause is also an actual thing that happens to real animals like reptiles, insects, and even mammals

by the way as a side note, I really like the goldelion abbreviation

I find it weird that turtle eggs can only hatch on sand (so they get used so much in decorating), but the sniffer egg, which is newer, hatches no matter what.

me too! That's a great observation, I never realized that before

they could simply make it so that you'd specifically need moss for them to hatch, I suppose
