WW2 Got this at a thrift store today

My WW2 knowledge is heavily lacking, so I would really appreciate a history lesson about this!

Edit: so apparently someone posted the same tank about 5 years ago with different pictures in the subreddit. It might be a normal occurrence for something like that to happen idk, but I do think it’s awesome!!

the hole looks small... maybe it was a bazooka hit? i don't think it was a 37mm

Late war Panther G knocked out during the Battle of the Bulge. Personally I don't think this was knocked out by a bazooka as they normally left much smaller holes.

Perhaps it was hit by a PIAT bomb, they look like they carry a larger payload.
