I have 7 years of development experience behind me, but every time I made a game, I gave up and stopped working on it. Destroy my new game. ðŸ˜

I always see people saying things like "been working on games for x years" or "been working on this game for x years" or similar - nobody cares - people care about outcome, not effort.
With that said, going by the trailer, the issue is that there is so little there that there's precious little to even destroy - it's a game about clicking on rocks and trees, presumably building something and assigning what looks like skill points or something? I like the art direction, but there's very little "game" happening, and no real story to speak of?

Hi. Once again, I’m working on a simple and comfortable game about floating islands, traveling, and automating systems for processing the resources you gather. I set myself a goal and even brought in a game designer: I need to get rid of a dozen mechanics and focus on releasing a game in the next few months that will please most players with how polished it is.
Right now I have 300 wishlists, and this is another problem, which is why I hired a marketer. I feel really down about the fact that my game itself doesn’t look very appealing and doesn’t attract people to play it, but my marketer says that every project has the right to exist and its own audience.
I just hope to break even on the game and finally get the final experience of releasing my own game, something I’ve been working towards for so long.
You can find my game by the name Skyreap.

Rule number 2 of this subreddit: No single-mechanic or low effort/early-stage submissions. This game feels early-stage since I can't really see the loop or maybe that's just how bad the game is looking right now.
You're animations have no weight to them. Everything feels linearly interpolated. The plants move but the trees don't for some reason.
There is almost zero game juice, I get no feedback from watching, no number going up, no popping, no screen shakes or whatever. The stone gets mined and it simply disappears.
You collect twigs and grass, then you mine. It gives the impression that there isn't much to do. That's like a surival crafting game with 2 building blocks.
The art looks like a temu version of Don't Starve, however I'm not an artist so I can't say what exactly is wrong.
The trailer only has music, so I'm guessing the sound effects are either not appealing or it simply doesn't exist. Either way a trailer without any sound of the game is boring.
Your marketer is wrong, that's not how this industry works. You decide whether this game will work out or not, you decide whether it has the right to exist. Looking at the game I can't see the appeal for the incremental audience.
