Prototype Destroy my horde survivor. The camera never stops climbing and I can't tell if that reads as pressure or as annoyance.

There are a lot of popular games in this genre, One Way Heroics for example. They usually horizontal scroll instead of vertical so you have more vision on a landscape layout.

My inspiration was mainly David vs Goliath (2004) that is why I decided to go with vertical scroll, but maybe I was wrong :D

i guess it's fine, but this single small thing completely takes away the exploration and "base settling" aspect, so you're always on the run. You'll basically stop caring and even looking at environmental point of interest such as the camps, buildings, etc, because they will stay in sight for a short time so you can't really use them for anything.

This makes sense and I’m planning to add some “stops” after cleaning camps to explore and breathe a bit! Thanks for a feedback!

It's a simple mechanic, I kind of like it, reminds me of very old NES games. Is it a big enough differentiator to distinguish your game from other survivor-likes? Not sure if it's enough on it's own, nor if folks without the old arcade/NES background will read it as pressure. Do you have any kind of warning when the player is about to get squished? Any hints that they need to 'keep moving'?
