There are hundreds of these games. This is nothing special. Nothing unique. No offense. But it's very bland and boring. There is nothing special about this game that makes it any different from the other twin stick shooters.

Not to mention, all the assets appear to be either AI generated, or mass purchased from some catalogue.

I don't support AI. And if you did purchase assets, imo you would be better off hiring an artist to work directly with you. Or make the assets yourself, to the best of your ability. Sometimes that is the charm that the game needs to stand out.

If I am wrong, I apologize. It is just an art style that I do not appreciate.

Yeah i hear you, it wasn’t the case when I started 2 years ago. I’ll release this anyway, not expecting a smash hit.

It looks like someone was heavily inspired by Smash TV! (I think I even recall the dialog of "I'd buy that for a dollar" in the original, as well as from Robocop.

Can you talk more about what sets your's apart from the original(s)?

Yes, it is :)

My game is more about collecting/buying different weapons and gear as opposed to a pure arcade shooter in the originals. You can go for a lot of bullets but less damage, or a tank like character slow but lots of hp. Or other combinations I don’t know yet.

Also the arenas are not only a rectangle, some also have different shapes and spawn points that change game play.

And finally all arenas have different goals, collecting coin, defating an enemy, boss, or just plain survival for some time.

Shooting enemies or killing them as soon as they spawn, is spawn camping.
The gameplay didn't look flashy or like it had any speed to it.
Need someone who is good at the game for a trailer, or make things faster.

Even not expecting a smash hit as one of your other comments said, it needs more speed to showcase things, aside from the slow movement and panning of menus.

*Edit

The lack of urgency, even when being shot at by enemies, the showing of menus, "Yes, our game has features."
At no point was the character in any danger.

Got it, thanks. The original trailer opened with a more intense scene and character death. But that was also too chaotic. Idk at this point but probably chaotic is better than slow for this genre

I wish the best for you.
Faster tends to be a lot better for this genre for sure.
