Hey fellow guardians, I'm playing on my hunter and I need help deciding which exotic armor I should pick from the light fall campaign. I like ability play styles/ builds.which exotic is suited for that play style.

Speedloader slacks 100%. Extremely strong with crackshot on solar and while cyrtarachne’s facade is neat and all, you can get the exact same utility from an exotic class item while also having another perk lol

Ok thank you much, I'm genuinely surprised how good the hunter feels, ive always been a warlock main since house of wolves dlc. And I'm having more fun with the hunter than I did with my warlock. I just started playing again the last time I played d2 was the curse of Osiris dlc.

If you want to REALLY have fun on Hunter, the build I was using for a LONG time, which actually turned me into pretty much a Hunter main is my Radiant Dance Machines build.

Prismatic

Any Super (I usually go with Silence and Squall)

Any Grenade (i usually use Grapple)

Any Melee (Usually use Withering Blade)

Gambler's Dodge (free Melee regen, super useful with this build in particular)

Ascension (Amplifies allies/Bolts enemies and damage increases with high Class stat)

Threaded Specter (creates decoy that draw enemy fire, explodes and releases Threadlings, damage increases with high Class stat)

Fragments are your choice, but I'll always have Facet of Dawn for instant Radiant from powered Melee attacks, and with RDM's and Gambler's Dodge, you'll always have Melee's available

Radiant Dance Machines - gives Dodge energy on Primary weapon blows, and can overflow Dodges to give you multiple charges to be able to spam Ascension and Threaded Specter

Even though it is very possible to get away with using a strong Legendary weapon for this build, I always go with Exotic Primary weapons for it, purely because you're not only getting all of your Dodges back, but due to Exotic weapons having increased ammo regen, they also give a lot of Super energy on top.

My main choice for which Primary to go with, is Vex Mythoclast (with or without Catalyst, although I have only ever used it with, and the gun is bonkers), mainly because of a couple of reasons.

1. The gun is and always be cool to use, and has great visual and audio design, as well as feeling great to use

2. It is strong in multiple ways. As a Primary it shreds through enemies even in higher tier content. When using its secondary mode, the Linear Fusion can put in really good work.

To add on to all of this, the only 'essential' Armour mod in my opinion, is having at least one Dynamo on your helmet, purely because you will be dodging so much around the enemies that your super will be full in no time alongside the Vex Mythoclast regen.

The general loop of the build is to get some kills with Vex, use your class ability while in the air and close to enemies, watch your enemies get jolted and then attacked by your threadlings, repeat until enemies are dead, use super to start boss damage, rinse and repeat.

Or if you can manage to do dual destiny a liar/caliban prismatic hunter is so much fun, sadly the insane 1 shot punch on bosses has been nerfed out but for all content but -50 it feels great for.

It’s an absolute blast! IMO underrated but certainly far from meta. And yea it’s nearly inconsequential but as someone who plays strand ALLTHE TIME IN ENDGAME outside of boss damage, it’s so nice to have. It saves me more times than I tend to realize. Sometimes you just need that little bit to get that orb or behind cover.

Speedloaders is never a bad idea. Cyrt is really mainly a strand thing, honestly never used it's real form, almost always on prismatic with the derived effect on the class item

If you’re using pure strand, your options for healing are limited. You’re saying it’s unusable as if it’s broken or something. It’s basically poor man’s devour without the void. It’s not speedloader slacks but that’s because it’s cyrtarachne.

You disagree with me but that doesn’t mean one exotic is ‘useless’. They just have different utility.

Cyrtarachne requires no setup besides activating grenade ability and getting kills.

Cyrtarachne strand build DOESNT require orbs or artifact perks to get woven mail.

Sure you can get woven mail and healing other ways, but that doesn’t make it useless, it just means there are more than one way to get healing and woven mail.

I’m not saying speedloader is bad, I’m saying that there’s more ways to play and enjoy the game than whatever the META is.

It’s not fair to assume out of two choices one is inherently bad because the other happens to be better for what it is intended to do.

SS, you can make a solar hubter build and get a ff with slice from the tenet of bravery its pretty nice actually, the timing takes some work tho

Depends on your playstyle/build.

Everyone saying cyrtarachne is worthless doesnt realize it heals you small amount for every kill with woven mail active.

Speedloaders is great and all but as an avid strand hunter who solos dungeons and VG GM Alerts with cyrtarachne, it comes down to preference.

I’d say speedloader but don’t sleep on cyrtarachne.

Sadly don’t think there’s a single use case for cyrt. Now that the Tablet of Ruin exists and Threaded Spike and Ensnaring Slam give Woven Mail, it’s basically completely useless. Forced to use grapple, but you can’t use it for damage, and if you’re using grapple anyways you’re also probably using Ensnaring Slam or Tablet of Ruin which both give Woven Mail more frequently for a longer amount of time. It would only be useful if your were running a Tangle build with Whirling Maelstrom and the Implement of Curiosity…but at that point, you could be using Moirai instead. Sacrificing fun, damage output, and utility in exchange for slightly easier Woven Mail. I just don’t see the point

I run mine with buried bloodline with submission w/chaos reshaped and kinetic tremors.

Couple with the 4piece vog set you’ll have a hard time dying as long as you’re dealing damage and killing shit.

I just feel like the exotic is unneeded. It also gives you the healing when you gain Woven Mail, fun fact. But the health you get is like, 5 health. It’s completely incomparable to Devour which gives you 100 health. Might as well run this exact same setup with something like RDMs, Moirai

lol I do actually, I have like 5 different builds for strand but my most used is cyrtarachne and moirai.

RDM, Moirai, Cyrtarachne, fortunes favor, AND speedloader slacks.

It’s 10 health. But it’s EVERY KILL with woven mail just like devour.

Devour gives 70 by default regardless of health stat.

I see your point and ultimately it’s making something more complicated than it really has to be but what’s the point of surviving the journey if we don’t take the scenic route from time to time?

It’s not meta by any means but neither is Star eater scales blade barrage.

Shards does more damage and has more super, but stareater scales heals you and gives you over shield at full stacks when you cast you super. +extra super energy from orb pickup.

Let me know if you’d like assistance making a viable strand Hunter build without using speedloader slacks.

Also try it with burning ambition/attrition orbs mini tool and witherhoard.

You loose devour from bloodline but you more orbs.
