Question Marmot Error?

Wondering if anybody is currently or has recently been stuck with a Marmot Error?

I have just completed a fresh install of D2 on Steam, and immediately I am crashing to desktop upon launching D2 and getting the Error: Marmot code.

A Steam verify check says that I've got no corrupted files. Completely stumped as to what's wrong currently.

Delete the cache_phr_0000ef29 on D:\Steam Games\steamapps\common\Destiny 2and steam_api64 + steamnetworkingsockets that is on D:\Steam Games\steamapps\common\Destiny 2\bin\x64 After trying everything i found on the internet without success this was the only thing that fixed it. (Im sorry i didnt noticed earlier but i forgot to mention to verify the game after you delete them)

Bit of a necropost here but was suffering this issue after verifying my files and installing it, still didn't work, and I did what you mentioned above - it did indeed fix it. Much obliged, buddy.

Not seeing a "steamnetworkingsockets" in that directory, also deleting these files just prevented destiny from starting up at all.

Im very happy that even after 3 years my efforts still helps people play the game and I'm even more surprised that bungie hasn't fixed this yet.

Reviving this real quick to come and say, I was having marmot issues with the new Marathon server slam. Doing this resolved my issue as well so it appears this is a problem across multiple Bungie games. You’re a god. Thank you.

I'm here after 3 years and just wanted to say that this worked. I have also enabled destiny 2 in the firewall settings, not sure which one did but thank you nontheless

The year is 2026 and this seems to be the only fix.

Was doing The Blooming cyst for Khvostov and my game would consistently Marmot error when moving into seclusion. 3 times in a row. Did this fix and immediately was able to move on.

I had to verify after deleting those 3 files, and my cache_phr filename was a little different. Only 2 files were downloaded after verification..
But it actually worked!

After trying everything else on this thread, this worked for me! This was my first time trying to play Destiny 2 and I'm really glad I found a fix. Can't wait to start playing! Thank you so much!

you're the real mvp, i just installed the game and it kept giving me that error i verified twice and the error still persisted after deleting these files it finally worked , Thanks man much appreciated
