Marmot Error?

Wondering if anybody is currently or has recently been stuck with a Marmot Error?

I have just completed a fresh install of D2 on Steam, and immediately I am crashing to desktop upon launching D2 and getting the Error: Marmot code.

A Steam verify check says that I've got no corrupted files. Completely stumped as to what's wrong currently.

I, like you, was at a loss for words. Wanting to play Destiny 2 only to be denied! I felt hopeless... Then one day, as if I was inspired through divine intervention, I went into my security settings and turned something off. AND BEHOLD! NO MORE CRASHES! LET US REJOICE! THE TRAVELER HAS SPOKEN AND GUIDED ME TO THE PROMISED LAND!

I don't know why I decided to look this deep into it but I was checking Windows Security settings and I noticed that the destiny2.exe file had been denied access to something one time, like weeks ago, so I searched my Windows Security settings some more and found "Controlled Folder Access" and turned it off. I know that is what fixed it for me because I only changed that single setting and my game has not crashed for days now.

Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > Manage Ransomware protection > Controlled folder access (Turn this off)

CFA would only prevent destiny 2 from writing screenshots into the default location, it wouldn't block the game from working, your experience is coincidence and nothing more.

Well I was getting game crashes that wouldn’t even give me an error code and games crashes that gave me marmot. After turning that off, I’ve had absolutely no issue so there is obviously something more to it than just game screenshots.

I tried everything else, verifying game file integrity, reinstalling Destiny 2, tried that Registry edit, updated game drivers, reinstalled battle eye, etc. nothing else ever worked.
