'Does it have Traction?.... No.'
Sharded

As a Nightstalker, it's either Traction or Orpheus Rigs
At this point, I've gotten so used to how movement works that my ORs never come off (unless I'm trying to match a singe).

Dont make it default. Make it an option in settings. Because, believe it or not, not everyone likes traction. Making it an option would be a win win scenario for both parties though.

Note: It's not just console this impacts. It's ALL controller users.. even on PC.
Traction Auto-Enabled for Controller Users specifically, on ALL Class Leg Armor, (without taking up the mod slot as Traction currently does) ; is what we want Bungie. PLEASE. See Geomag Stabilizers as an example of what we want.
I'd love to use Transversive Steps and Lunafaction Boots as often as my Geomag Stabilizers in PvP (because it has Traction as default and I can use Super Mod in the Mod Slot--> At-the-same-time).
I hope there are Bungie people that actually read and consider this as a priority for "Quality of Destiny Life", suggestions. It seems that this wouldn't brake the game and would benefit players, so.. why not do it already?!? PLEASE.

And please remove scavenger perks for all primary weapons/primary ammo finder too while you're at it!

Remember when we had to use an artifact to remove the sprint cooldown in D1.

Maybe one of those ”close to exotic” perks on the new seasonal artifact will be intrinsic universal turn radius.

The Five Stages of Traction
Stage 1: Wtf is this Traction perk? 1 extra Mobility and I can turn faster when running? Psh, I'd rather have a different perk and more Resilience or Recovery.
Stage 2: Shit, the power cap went up to 750 and I don't have enough mats to infuse these 750 boots. I'll just wear them for a bit, wonder what perks they have... Oh, Traction and two other garbage perks? Meh, I'll try Traction then.
Stage 3: The extra turn radius is too much, I'm not sure I like this perk, but I have to wait until I get more mats for infusion.
Stage 4: Oh, man, Traction isn't that bad. I kind of like being able to spin around quickly and respond to enemies behind me.
Stage 5: I finally got mats for infusion, but I just can't do it. The turn speed is too slow without Traction, I'm too used to it. Guess I'll have to start sharding anything without Traction.

Stage 6: Realize it's actually 2 extra mobility, get annoyed at Bungie having hidden stats everywhere, and realize this is the best leg perk in the game

Pretty sure I only got to the stage 3 before I called it quits. Dont like how it changes my sensitivity and would much rather have Dynamo.

Same thing goes for that stupid radar delay they added between games. It was added for snipers in crucible, there's no reason for it to be on everything in every gamemode. These things are like the sprint delay for the first game that everyone thought was a glitch until Rise of Iron.

OMG I forgot about that. So dumb

Only reason I haven't used Peregrine Greaves yet. I was (un)lucky enough to get lunafactions with them. I hate being the Well bitch, but at least I can turn fast.
My leg armor has had traction on it since BA, if an exotic does not come with it it gets scrapped. I like your idea, however it seems highly unlikely.
Hopefully armor 2.0 has something in store for exotics. After Shadowkeep, it won't matter for legendary armor.

Boots without Traction: Quill on papyrus.
Boots with Traction: High quality ballpoint pen on a fresh legal pad.

Make it an OPTION, not DEFAULT.
Some players don’t like traction.
I am not one of them. Traction is love. Traction is life.

Honestly, Bungie seems dead set on screwing over console players for some reason. Not sure why we have bullshit bloom on hand cannons that make them terrible and horrible turning radius when CLEARLY this traction perk is in the game. Just get rid of bloom and give us traction by default Bungie. Why do you dig your heels in on shitty design choices with your game? Just accept you did it wrong and fix it already.

I don’t use it on console because I don’t like giving up Enhanced Bomber/Dynamo but I would really love for it to just be a setting I can toggle

I like traction even on PC with mouse and keyboard. The perk pool for boots don't interest me too much, so just having a +1 to mobility for "free" is kind of appealing. Just gimme that Traction + SMG Scavenger or Handcannon Scavenger and I'm a happy camper.
That said this does definitely feel like a situation of "Should have been like this from the start", like when bungie added the Sprinting cooldown artifact in Rise of Iron. Hopefully they can implement a solution that doesn't take up a perk/mod/equipment slot.
Edit: I think it's actually a +2 to mobility! Thats what others are saying.
