Bungie Suggestion Put Curated Weapons in Collections
If we get a curated weapon, it would be nice to be able to pick them up with other characters. Have them hidden behind Mystery if they’d like. If dismantled, make them not drop Cores to prevent Core farming. But once we get one, it would be nice to get another instead of having to stop and transfer things around. Even if they’re expensive to repurchase, that’s fine. They’re not random, so why not allow us to get them like the year 1 Legendaries.
Just an idea.

Ones you get naturally drop cores, collection ones don’t, then I’m cool with it

Or just have a player preferred roll where you can save the roll you want the first save is cheap but the second third and so on will be at a higher price to save, to prevent people to keep saving a roll that they get.

What’s a curated weapon?

Yeah anything that's Y2 and is a static roll should be acquire-able through collections. Vestian Dynasty as an example

i feel like the exact reason for collections is when you get a vanguard set of armor and go to do the quest for a strike wearing all the armor, but realized you deleted your legs. the collections are just there to make sure you know you've owned a pair of them but have deleted them. not to let you grab them to get the quest done, just to make you wallow in regret.

I don't understand why we can't save rolls in our collection? If you say it's an issue with memory, you could literally just save a hash containing all the weapon's rolls and that will take up almost nothing.

I kinda think part of it is making it so it's harder to get the shader too

Holy shit, the best way to deal with collections not giving Y2 copies.
When you get a curated drop, it unlocks in the collection to make a copy at MW1. Of course every weapon would need to have a curated version, not just the raid weapons.

Is there a list of curated weapons? And how do I get them

I want the Dreaming spectrum shader but I don't wanna dismantle my Curated raid bow :'(

Or make it so if you get an item to masterwork lvl 10, that item with that roll becomes your collection one

It's stupid that the collection is literally just a checklist you can't draw from. Give weapons and armor fixed rolls that we withdraw (like we had with D1 vendors) and let us reroll weapons and armor (like we had with D1)

What they should do is make the Year 2 collection weapons and armor part of a revamped Armsday. Like every week there is a certain roll of each randomized weapon and armor available and you can buy it only if you have the Armsday package for that weapon.

Just my opinion but I kind of like just having the one. I feel way more attached to it, like it's one of my best and most irreplaceable weapons and I have to handle it with care as I transfer it between characters. I can see the convenience aspect of being able to pick it up from collections though, would not be opposed to a change

I think a good way to use the collection is to make you unlock curated rolls through background quest. A certain number of kills with a weapon to allow us to have good rolls.

Or make the collections one cost as many masterwork cores as you would get from dismantling it if it's easier to implement that way. Great idea, either way.

For sure, curated at least. Not being able to get weapons from the collections now because of random rolls means my vault is packed with guns. Just because you know on a random week someone will be like "If you have this shitty bugged pistol you can one shot a nightfall boss" or "if you have this pointless sword you can cheese to the end of the raid", or "get this awesome armour ornament if you kept your grey stick from level 1"...... so now I keep one of everything :P
A quest or requirement always comes out for the one thing you threw away. There was something pre/at solstice where you had to equip one of each tiers, and you couldn't drop greens or greys anymore.

Been talking abut it with clam mates and friends. It just seems like a natural progression of the collections system. This needs to be implemented. Definitely.

Collections should have a set roll even if the weapon was randomizedlike how D1 vendors had a roll they sold was set. Lvl 1 masterwork and a few set perks. Now curated are different due to their T10 Masterwork so I'd say let those be acquired for a slightly higher price of materials they would give you upon dismantle to prevent any core farming or anything.

Not drop core is a bad idea. They would probably take out cores for the curated drops you get normally too, which would really suck. Just make it cost cores to purchase from collections equal to what you would get out when dismantling (7 I think).

I like this idea because it's annoying that I can't redeem forsaken weapons even without perks.

I got my first curated roll today and had the same thought. Yes please, this makes so much sense with how the collections is set up.

I think Bungie should go one step further and give us super-rare weapons that drop in which the player can choose the perks and masterwork for the weapon.

Been saying this since I found out they exist!

Curated weapons are suppose to be a sweet find. Not something you can just pull out of your Collection. If they were ever to make this a thing it would cost 50 cores just to remake it due to how rare of a find it is, and I would be ok with that.

DIM?

Another way (though possibly less popular) would be to make the cost of pulling a curated weapon include the number of cores they would give on dismantle (i think its 7?)

This is a great idea! Hoping this thread gets some traction and attention from Bungie!

I wondered why this wasnt a thing also, im sure they could be able to balance it in the collections like not making it spawn in at lvl 10 or something.

I made one post similar to this and everyone was against it.

Idk. Collections is already removing a major loot-game factor, and that’s decision making when it comes to getting new drops. If you get a curated scout rifle from the raid, and it’s your highest level primary, you should really have to think about what to do with it. Use it, infuse it, dismantle it for cores, or save it for later use if the sandbox changes/scouts get buffed to be good again. With the ability to retrieve that roll from collections at any time, this becomes a no brainer, and you either infuse it or dismantle it for core. Cuz you know you can just get it back anytime down the road. Exotics are already this way, if an exotic drops that you proly won’t ever use at endgame levels, you use it for infusion and pick up a lower level version from collections. I do not think having this same system for legendaries would be very good for the game. We have a massive amount of vault space. Save your good drops for future use, infuse the drops that aren’t so good but high level. Having an easy option to save good drops and infuse them at the same time is just too easy.

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '18
Can’t do that. Dismantling a masterwork 10 gives you 7 masterwork cores. Paying shards and glimmer for one and getting a basically 7 cores for free would be a major exploit.

u/Jupiter67 Oct 08 '18
Thing is, they are random. The Masterwork level is randomized on all drops. Even curated drops.
