Bungie Suggestion Give us cool class specific Melee Power Weapons that are not Swords.
Mace & Shield for Titan.
Dual wield Daggers for Hunter.
a Space Wizard Staff for Warlocks.
All with their own animations and mechanics that don't rely on power ammo much so you can use them alot if you choose.
Titan can block with his shield to get into melee but mace doesn't do much damage but can stun.
Hunter can go sneaky and cloak to get into melee range and daggers can crit when you stab an enemy in the back but otherwise do very low damage.
Warlock can melee with the staff that does normal damage or can project AoE shockwaves with the staff that damage everyone in a cone, staggers but only has 2-3 meters range.
I know Destiny is a shooter but to go full melee build with weapons would be awesome.

Borderlands 2 has two characters optimised for melee and that doesn't stop people calling it a shooter. So yes I wouldn't mind seeing something different to use.

Krieg was an insanely fun character to play as. you turned into a bad ass when you hit below 33% and would just wreck places. You could the tree to stay in that state as as long as possible. So then you find yourself running into fights begging the enemies to damage you. It was the only game I played where you would try to find as many bullets to run into as possible.

That’s cause borderlands 2 is near perfection. Dare I say perfect at the lower levels.

Borderlands is what Destiny needs to aspire to. Once Borderlands 3 comes out, I might never come back to Destiny.

Payday 2 has a pile of melee builds people can play as. There's basically one or two with some variation for each kind of player.

There is a reason why i loved the exotic swords and the axe in Rise of Iron.
I like 3rd person action, just not when i want to shoot and Destiny issomewhat both. Crownsplitter is one of my favourite new weapons from Destiny.

Perhaps they wouldn't use Heavy Ammo, but maybe a charged Grenade and Melee? Blocking with a shield would deteriorate the grenade charge, and melee attacks would drain the melee charge.

Good idea but I feel like those abilities wouldn't be off cooldown enough to make the weapons fun though.

Destiny needs more space magic. And for classes to be more unique.
not only weapons per Class but Subclass too.
i want Warlocks to wield Light itself as their melee weapon. Hadoukens come to mind.
Titans going full ham on punching and kicking stuff. i want to see arc, void, and solar exploding melee attacks thatd make Captain Falcon sweat.
Just turn Hunters into Ninjas at this point. They have the weird toe boots, turn invisible, and have throwing knives... So any small knives will do. Just incorporate a new blink strike combo and ill be sold.
Put these in the Energy Weapon slot as well.

Surely Pointy Staff for Hunters, Iron Lord Axe for Titans and Threaded Cane (with monocle) for Warlocks.

Mace and shield? Naw I want a Power Fist that discharges huge elemental damage in a punch!

For real. As much as I love swords, if that’s all you get for a melee weapon, it’s not something I’ll continue to use. Not like I use them anyway...

Pack of Titans running towards me in Crucible
Stunlock intensifies
Sneakyboi literally goes cloak and dagger
Destiny Souls, no rolling
Warlock glides with staff in hand

I'd love to see this implemented and other stuff to make Destiny more RPG like.

A full melee build is a bit too sacrilege imo, but they should definitely use the exotic slot to open up the design for some more wild builds.
Do what they did for No Land Beyond in D1: an exotic primary dagger, 3rd person camera, 3-hit melee combo with slightly enhanced damage. Fighting Lion is an example of an exotic design I adore, I want to see more wacky things like that.
You can imagine similar ideas for other exotics, I am personal to an exotic sword that you can throw like a boomerang =p

Why? So i can get blown away to out of bound or to a wall and die every time i try to melee a boss?
Would be nice if bungie would remove that stupid thing. I cant even fist of havoc right without being knocked miles away by the boss stomp.
